If I were you Paul, wait it out untill the wheelin' season slows and do what AZ boys are doing to theirs, just keep enough sheet metal to keep the law off ya ;) As much as you seem to roll/flop/tip, you need to add quite a bit more beef to the front end IMO

IMHO - build a front end out of tube to allow quick-connect of front fenders, then just take them off when you hit the trail.

We just finished up the front on mine. It still has the hood and some of the fenders and grill. It got enough tube to protect all that's important. I'll get some pix soon.
On a side note, I think you need to learn to drive.:D

On a side note, CJ took 6-8 passes on my roof section to compact it, It would not fold. My best man buddy pal is a body man fanatic and told me that a toyota cab is one of the strongest of all passenger vehicles of its time. The windshield pillars may be weak, but the rear pillars are just too intense. Those lil tubes are nothing compared to some "enginerd" sheetmetal fab five freddyin. :D

Im sorry I feel horrible. :flipoff2: Opinion noted. It's holding up pretty good so far. It took some hits on Big Johnson a few weeks ago to where the hood came up about a foot. I had to surf the hood to be able to see the trail. I'd love to do the tube buggy type front, but I don't have a bender yet. I know it's stronger than the stock fenders that were on my rig, they were rust eaten. :D:D:D:D:D

So Todd, Did you build that frame to accept your fenders and hood for some quick disconnects? Or is it that the finished product? Im just browsing my options. I really didnt have fenders before the roll, but I did still have the fender wells, they got toasted.:nuke: Mossy's front end is nice setup.

Dude, you don't want to know what Todds rig ended up looking like. Brace yourself, because I expect he'll post a pic before too long. :p

No offense Todd, but it does look like you built that frame for the front, cut up a water heater with a pair of tin snips, tossed it over the front end, and went apeshit with a staple gun.

Sure, it's admirable for pure functionality, but it's still ugly. Really ugly. :flipoff2:

Stock hood, who need's fenders ???

One thing that I didn't mention that helps for strength, is the square tube is tied in to the firewall flange on each side, the front body mounts, and also to the Ford shock towers.
