Who has done it, and does it increase the life any?Show me pics of your groove job, and your opinion on what the change was, if you don't have grooved boggers I don't want to hear from you:) Sorry I just want real answers not hear say, I saw, he saw mary saw and john saw. I want real 100% proof! thanks, cause I hate to groove off perfectly good tire:eek:

And U know this from all your vast years as a wheeler:rolleyes: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: Boggers rule, u will learn little one! get that POS togather for Drews run, no welding the hubs on either!
Booger Weldz 05-30-2002, 01:28 PM got any hubs or rotor carriers(the portion the lugs nuts go through) for sale?? i dont yet know the conditions of my super birfs, they looked very mushroomed when we put them back in after the axle snappin...
Raptor 05-30-2002, 01:28 PM I love my boggers and wouldn't part w/em. I will run other tires also though. There is nothing like a bogger, they won't do everything w/ease but what they do they do better than any other tire.
I would groove them and then post some pics. I'm thinking of doing the same w/my 35x14.5 after I put the MT/r's on. Just to see what esle they can do with some more contact area. I've got an idea what I want to do but would love to see some different cuts and here some comments on the results.
SeaBass44 05-30-2002, 01:37 PM Sorry Boogie, no hub parts;) 2 weeks and counting! I got my gear drive a few mins ago, so I will install it this eve when it's cooler, gona hit 100* today:eek:
Seabass, here is how I grooved mine. I just started with this cut to see if I could tell a difference (I could not) and parked the tires before I added more.
If I had finished the job, here is how I probably would have done it:
I have some more pics of others stored - I will upload them all to a page tonight if you want to see them :)
Raptor 05-30-2002, 01:52 PM I would like to see.
I was thinking more of an angled cut, similar to what you've done but not straight.
0ILBURNER 05-30-2002, 02:19 PM I can't comment on how they perform, but I have seen Boggers grooved like this pretty regularly. You gotta watch out that ya don't cut 'em too far out - I've seen the entire lug torn off

I kinda like this one - but it looks like a LOT of work, and I bet this is a larger tire and the smaller 35's have too small a tread block for this to work well without tearing them to pieces...
BTW - thanks Oilburner - I like my tractor too :cool2:
Raptor 05-30-2002, 02:34 PM Yeah but it's a Ford, I'll take my Deere thanx
Just kiddin' I actually like Fords;) just not sure about the tractors though
:p

But we digress......:D
RE:Todd 05-30-2002, 03:13 PM Darren, Fatty did it on his 33's, he said it helped. Oh, you don't want second hand, ask him yourself @ Fatkid
Oh :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :D :D
Heavy Metal Toy 05-30-2002, 03:23 PM hey seabass, this is slightly off topic but...
with your setup in your 'zuk, what RPM is your engine at on highway, like 60 mph? and you have 4.10's, right? thanks.:usa:

OOP'S 05-30-2002, 09:20 PM After I seen how they worked on wet rocks this last weekend I would groove them. But then again nothing was really sticking!!!:D :D :D :D
OffroadRunner 05-31-2002, 09:09 AM I noticed on my Boggers that have very little lateral traction. I groved mine so that there were 2 grooves on the big lugs and 1 groove on the smaller lugs. It helped traction a lot. The bigger the groove the better. Sorry I don't have any pics. and as far as lasting longer. I didn't have mine on long enough to find out.

Thats what mine looked like.
SeaBass44 05-31-2002, 09:23 AM 38.46% say Bacon.......I see what kind of jokers I'm dealing with:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: I still don't know if I want to groove them yet....it might be like picking at a scab....once you start u can't stop......I may have no tread left!

BACON-BACON-BACON!!! :flipoff2:
BornInAJeep 05-31-2002, 10:10 AM I'm no artist, but here's what i plan on doing. Vertical sipes in the big lug, and one vertical groove in the small lugs.

Make that 46.88% :flipoff2:
SeaBass44 05-31-2002, 10:10 PM it's a tie I'll either groove them or I'll bacon:flipoff2:
Ben Holloway 06-01-2002, 11:55 AM seems like grooves would be good for traction on side hills and such and probally in the snow to keep you on the path
Ben
Scott@Rockstomper 06-01-2002, 12:54 PM Hey, Seabass, it's pretty solidly Bacon now... :p
Having fought with mine entirely too much lately trying to hold lateral traction (they don't), I won't run Boggers again. Next will be TSL's. Anybody want a good pair of 44 Boggers, full tread, but I've chewed the front edges off of all the lugs? :(
Realistically, I'll probably groove the Boggers for now, till I can afford a pair of TSL's. I'm thinking diagonal grooves, two per, in the biggest lugs, one maybe straight vertical, maybe diagonal, in the medium lugs, and one vertical in the small lugs.

Nope, bacon's got 50% now, git cookin'!!! :flipoff2: :p
Heavy Metal Toy 06-01-2002, 03:53 PM so what is the consensus here? i really like boggers, wanna go with 38.5x11's someday, i like the skinnyness, but i want to know how they sidehill when grooved. let us know how the grooving improves performance, seabass. :usa:
mullet_zuk 06-13-2003, 11:21 AM So did you ever groove them??? I just borrowed a groover from a buddy and I'm ready to attack some 37"boggers. Anyone have some fawking pattern suggestions other than the ones in this post???
VT_Toy 06-13-2003, 11:52 AM Bacon :flipoff2:
