I recently got crossover steering on my chevy(77 4x4, with 383).

I need to make a new crossmember from motor mount to motor mount, question is how close to the oilpan is safe to account for frame flex while offroading, i dont want it too close and damage the oilpan, but then again i dont want it low enough to get in the way.


Any help is appreciated.

yes i know ord makes one, but on my budget or lack thereof ill do it myself, just looking for a bit of advice.

how much lift do you have?

you can make drop drag link,
copy ord's cross member,
take a small notch off of the stock cross, thats what i had to do when i only had a 4" lift and straight link
