: What Toyota axle is this (if any)

A local Jeep shop has this axle lying around. Does anybody know what it is? It's sprung under with Toyota like 3rd member.

It's mine if I want it (no charge). I think it's about the width of an IFS rear end. I need to check to make sure.

thats not a 9"

it looks like a ifs toyota rear axle. probably one off a 2 wheel drive. if so then its not worth picking it up. they only have a 7.5" ring gear and are far weaker!

I guess you can technically have an IFS front on 2WD, but let's not get into that....

Can you retrofit a Toyota 8" into a 2WD rear end. Do the 3rd members interchange? If so, I need to go 3" wider on my 4Runner.

Its not a toyota rear the brake t is on the wrong side. it could be a mazda rear or nissan has 2 styles for rears drop out carrier and non drop out. You don't want it its junk.

One more vote for a Nissan. If it's 6 lug, that's what a Nissan 4x4 rear looks like from what I remember from a few years back. I assume you are looking to get a few inches wider in the rear huh? I'd start looking elsewhere for an IFS unit. They are pretty cheap if you can find one locally.

Lance,
You need a taco rear to get the width :D

Looks like a Nissan. It's not a 4wd Toyota one. You can see where the housing gets smaller near the flange on the wider 86 and up ones. The 85 on down do look semi like that one though. There aren't enough fins on the 3rd member either. No toyota one I've seen has a "cover" end like the Ford 9".

So why don't you donate yours to me! However, you can keep those warped ass springs ;)

Have you been over to our leased land yet? You'd like it, but I've got to tell you it's a little harder than that Rock Creek that wooped your ass :smokin:

Seriously, we need to set a date for a SMALL gathering. (10 max)

NISSAN. From late MK or 720. It is a dumb axle.

I just happen to have an extra housing sitting in the garage :D I sent those warped ass springs back to All Pro ages ago :flipoff2:

Never have been over to the leased land, I have heard Cannon mention it a time or two though. We would love to come down and wheel Clayton again soon, was down at Disney this weekend testing out the SAS. Man, Todd and I talk about SnakePit regularly :D , that fawker kicked my ass but I had a helluva time runnin it :smokin: I got home and found my IFS bent back 1.5" :D Perfect excuse to put it under the blue tiped wrench :nuke: Here is a pic of the rig today :D . Lets set a date for a run.... get Cannon to come up. I know Bones would wanna come down with me in his Runner.

I'm going up the weekend of July 12th and then probably the 27th / 28th of July. I'm pretty much workign on the house and 4Runner in June. I've just got too much work to get done.

I'm supposed to be going to Uvalde on the 4th of July weekend, but that is up in the air right now. I might just head up to Clayton to work on that water shed trail.

If it's a Nissan V6, it's stronger than shit, but buying stuff for it will break you in half. I don't know about it being Nissan though. Maybe a really old Nissan 4cyl one... My friend's 620 has a dropout that's real small. R&P on Nissan V6 is 9.24".

Nissan, Isuzu, or Mazda but it doesn't look like a Toy.
