uglyscout 05-06-2007, 09:51 PM Friday: Fought the belt/pulley system on my Scout for almost 4 hours and 4 trips to the parts store. $60, 60 miles. 4 hours.
Sat: Fought it some more -- stripped the nut/threads on my alternator - So spent time screwing around finding another alternator. $30, 30 miles, 3 hours.
Sunday: Chased down yet another pulley. Waiting on the correct length belt to come in at the parts store. $0, 50 miles, 2 hours.
I've built axles in less time than I have wasted fixing a garbaged belt. And I'm still not done with it. :shaking: Maybe next time I'll just continue to half ass it and just put a new belt on it and hope it last a year or before it destroys itself....
Total waste in trying to correct a broken fan/alt/water pump belt = $90, 140 miles, 9 hours. :mad3: I am a 100% loser!
Mechanos 05-06-2007, 10:00 PM My GLO diff covers showed up... pretty beefy.
Sat: Spent ALL day tearing out a window, replacing a bunch of termite eaten framing, set a window, ripped out all the tile and redid the tub/shower in my neighbors house.
Sun: Struggled to find a purpose to exist.
scout254 05-06-2007, 10:16 PM FRI- got call from relatives about a jeep for sale.
SAT- Hooked up my buddies trailer and drove to Sac & picked up another '95 Wrangler.

SUN- Drove back home, worked on the Scout80..... finally finished it.... time to go wheeling again.:grinpimp:
SSGTWC 05-07-2007, 06:47 AM Thursday thru Sunday .....fuckin change of command inventories. I hate them! Sometimes I wish I wasn't in a maintenance company.
Today I'm just going to relax and do nothing.
Colorado Dave 05-07-2007, 07:37 AM watched alot of Hockey... pulled a dana 20 and Gen. Nonsense stopped by and picked it up.
NVScouter 05-07-2007, 07:43 AM Had a death in the Family so I spent Fri-Sat in Sacatomatos.
Sunday I didnt do shit because all the parts I have on order havent shown up yet :(
Binder 05-07-2007, 08:34 AM Went to a local trail clean up then wheeled................Been doing my best lately to learn the ins and outs of GM TBI. Last week I learned of a friend who had installed a system on his jeep but was having so many issues he was about to rip it off and install a carb then sell the jeep. While I don't have a problem with friends ditching jeeps I offered to try and help if I could. Turns out he had his initial install settings all screwed up and on top of that it ran very lean. Adjusted the settings then it ran much better and now doing some chip adjusting. It's nice to know that some of the things I'm trying to learn are sinking in.:smokin:
76scoutman 05-07-2007, 09:34 AM Fri: dinner out with the missus, then worked on the pass side floorboard replacement pannel. Thats the first work I've done on the Scout in over 2 months. Man am I behind schedule! :mad3: Gave beginner lessions on welding to a buddy of mine.
Sat: not much, went to a party that night, kicked a few back.
Sun: went fishing, cought 7 good sized catfish. Cleaned em up that evening and did a fish fry last night. Good eats. :smokin:
Hammered Scout 05-07-2007, 10:09 AM Went to Azusa Canyon
Docfranco 05-07-2007, 01:00 PM HS, I almost hit Azusa...damit. I may go this saturday with some scoutswest guys.
I did repair my rear caliper bracket that came loose in BB 2 weeks ago.
took a nice drive up & down the beach area topless love this weather for that...

Congratulations
I spent the weekend installing the doner 304. Hopefull this will be a good motor for the summer. What a bitch doing a motor swap. First day is spent pulling the engine, day 2 is spent cleaning the oil/dirt covered motor installed some new intake and exhaust gaskets and I pull the freeze plugs and removed a TON of crap. day 3 install motor and figure out water pump leaks. :mad3: Will replace water pump in the next couple days. Don't be fooled by the new paint, I just could not help my self and had to give it some color. The engine lever was well worth the $30 bucks. Like my tranny vent tube. Looks like it will work for me :flipoff2: I just RTV in some copper tube and it looks like it will work.
tsm1mt 05-07-2007, 01:56 PM Mostly stripped and painted my inner fenders - but might send 'em to the strip shop and then paint 'em again. Decided the outer fenders will get blasted, so why not the inners, too?
Painted my RTI ramp while I had the gun out, along with the 60 knuckles, caliper stands, etc.
Replaced the shift-shaft seal on my street Scout's 727 using the fancy tool Bill USN1 brought to my attention - thanks, Bill!
Replaced the starter on the same Scout - d'oh - and finished mounting the new Tekonsha P3 brake controller.
Cleaned up the field a bit - put air-holders on IHs with flat tires, moved the 60 and 70 around back next to the shed to tidy up the front side of the shop.
Cleaned she shop.
Greased one D60 U-joint and got it pressed in - the short-side is ready to go. Still need to grease the long-side, then I'll get serious about putting in the new kingpin parts and bolting the knuckle on.
New rotors should be here tomorrow.
BLK Scout 800 05-07-2007, 02:16 PM Broke in the PSD on a short tow down south, she ran great and stopped even better (1 ton brakes are the shit). The scout was barley felt on the hills, I think I'm in love with this truck!!!
Did some snow wheeling but mostly drank  No PIX sorry :shaking:
Blind Driver 05-07-2007, 03:13 PM Installed a fan shroud on the Scout. Maybe it won't overheat in the drive-thru lanes anymore. Still have to order a Robert Shaw t-stat.
Removed the belts and water pump pulleys. I "had" an intermittent squealing. Sanded the piss out of them and reinstalled. Looks like I have the wrong pulley on either the w/p or the p/s pump. The p/s is wider and deeper. Works for now.
Moved into the house finally. Living of of my shop was getting old. No sewer means no shower or toilet :D
Urban Wheeler 05-07-2007, 04:41 PM Wired up the lathe so I have forward and reverse, and spent most of the weekend playing around with it. Stayed up way too late Friday and Saturday, man I'm fuckin tired.
Called Shawn at GLO about my parts, he said he'd get back to me and when he did, I was on the motorcycle with the phon in my pocket. By the time I got the message he was gone.
Diesel Smoke 05-07-2007, 04:50 PM Hung out with Binderbound and a few others outside of Bend. Just the general camping in the desert, hanging around the campfire and watching Sobe bombs go off. Oh...there was a 750HP desert racing truck there too, we occasionally took rides in.:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Needless to say I had a great time and am glad I got invited to go along. Bounding over 3' whoops at 60 MPH is just something I had never done before, but rest assured if I ever get invited again I'll be there with bells on! Just had one damn good weekend with good people and had a hard time wipping the smile off my face yesterday after I got home.
Shadow man 05-07-2007, 05:15 PM Put the 35s on the Beater. Rubs on the firewall slightly at full stuff. :smokin:

Bill usn-1 05-07-2007, 11:24 PM I got to wheel on Sat.
Broke my last PS stub shaft.....I only brought 2 spares over here with me.
Sunday did some more chip tweaking on the little mini cooper 4 cyl. and made a new crankcase vent system.
Dirt Boy 05-08-2007, 12:34 AM Got a call from work to do some emergency fill in at our Vernal Utah location so I spent the beginning of the weekend packing up all my shit and putting it ito the wells cargo trailer so my wife can haul it up to Wyoming in a few weeks. Then spent a few hours walking around downtown tucson, going to a hot rod show that we just happened upon, then a motorcycle rally, and a lame folk fest.
Spent sun afternoon driving to flagstaff and all day today driving to Vernal. Drove through moab without stopping, again:mad: Brought the scout with me on a trailer, anyone know of any wheeling in NE Utah?
Shadowy guy, the beater looks good, sorry I didn't get a chance to go out and rescue you on a shakedown run. :flipoff2: I'll be back in Aug.

Driving through Moab with a wheeling rig, and then not even stopping to wheel is a fucking damn shame!!! You have some screwed up priorities.:flipoff2:
I went to a rock crawl comp over in Roosevelt in 1999. I think it was north of town off of 121.
There was a lot of good spots there. Could have been west of town too.
I must have done some good Utah drugs, I can't remember where exactly.:homersimpson:
Dirt Bag, Ask these guys for the spots. http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/rme.php
Doing a Traveler buildup next month. Bobbing it about a foot and stuffing 37" MTRs on it. Should be a bad ass cheap build up wheeler when done.:smokin:
YellowIH 05-08-2007, 02:05 PM Finished a bunch of piddy crap. Nothing to impress the Pirate crowd....basically things are just now bolted down in case I rollover.
Worked on the Mustang GT....its a lot easier to get power out of. :D
Did a new tune and a cold air induction and new mufflers....weeeeee....fun.
Snoopy 05-09-2007, 10:15 AM Built a cage for a local on Friday/Saturday, chilled Sunday

I was just thinking that my 39.5s looked small the other day too. 35s look like Mall cruiser tires now. :grinpimp: They look like they belong on my Vette.
That is why the traveler buildup next month will get 37 MTRs, RS, bobbed and no suspension lift too. :flipoff2: Stay tuned.

What? Replacing the SSII? :grinpimp:
Oh, I forgot to mention these...
