And another yes.:flipoff2: What's the point of your question? There are other cases that fit that same description.

Since I'm looking at my NP205, I will agree.

I wonder what question he's after?

So would that be:

Low High and Higher(est?)

I think they call the one speed a Driveshaft.

All NP205s have 3 speeds.

Low, neutral and high range :flipoff2:

Damm answer the guys question. Yes there are fixed yoke's on all inputs and outputs. Would you like a picture? all NP205 are approx 2 to 1 gears.
They are used for 2wd to 4wd conversion in long bed pickup's mostly. or the stock application. But I think Kevin at Anything Scout put one on the output of his D20 and chop the D20 in half for the front shaft to get by.

Fullsize IH trucks 69-75 used divorced 205, pass. side drop. Before that the NP 200 or 202 was used. As with any IH product, years and running gear equiped may vary, so a 69 with a 202 or a 68 with a 205 wouldnt be surprising.

As far as using the earlier cases (200/202), they have the basically the same low range (1.9-something), but I really dont have any experience with the strength of the output shafts or gears. One thing to look out for is the spline count of the input/output. If it isnt 32-spline, you may be stuck with 1310 joints, unless you feel like going through the work or making yokes or flanges for it.

A single-speed chain drive case was also listed for fullsizes,:barf: but I have never seen one (thank god) I believe this is the same junk as was offered in 73-up scouts as an option.

So does that make my NP435 a 5 speed? :flipoff2:

Don't forget Dodges, and the rare Chevrolet with a NAPCO Powr-Pak might have one too, if not a Dana 23 or Rockwell.

Long story short...Napco was an aftermarket 4x4 conversion sold for *mostly* Chevy/GMC (you will see the occasional Ford). In the late 50's, it became an option that was still made by Napco, but added on the assembly line. In 1960, when GM introduced factory 4x4 in the 1/2 and 3/4 tons, Napco still converted the 1 tons (and anything else you'd give them money for) , which continued well into the 70's.

http://www.napco4x4.org/ for an in depth read about the history.

I have seen two Napco trucks in person. One was a 1972 Chevy C30 SRW with a 9' stepside bed. It had a divorced, pass drop NP205. The other was a 60's C30 in a junkyard, that had a divorced Dana 23 (which is a pass drop version of the Ford D24).
