I need to open up a set of steel wheels to fit a '76 F-250. They came from a C&C dually 14 bolt, and they wont fit over the Dana 60 hub. I'm guessing that they would need to be opened up about 1/4" or so...
Who would have thought the Dana 60 hubs were bigger than the 14b?? Anyway, other than using a mill, what are my options?? Thanks!!
Angle grinder or die grinder :smokin:

I opened up my 19.5s this weekend. I had to take off about an 1/8th", so 1/16"th off of each side. I marked it out with a wheel that had the right center hole. Then I really carefully took off the extra material with a grinder. I went slowly and made sure it was done right, because my wheels were hubcentric. It worked excellent.

If there is a lip on the rim, you can use a whole saw. Get a whole saw that fits nice over the lip and get'r done. Then have them rebalanced and call it good. If there is no lip, you're on your own.

4" grinder with a well worn wheel that has a nice curve to it. Get in there and keep the grinder moving with little pressure on it. Works like a champ, had to do the same thing a couple weeks ago to get a set of 3/4 ton chevy rims on my dodge 60 rear.

Sounds good!! It looks like I'm going to have at it with the grinder. My only other question is, I have to run them on the smaller studs on the dana 60 - The 14bolt had 9/16 studs, and I believe that the 60 has 1/2" studs? My idea was that since it's now 'lug centric', the chamfered lug nuts will hold the wheels just fine. Bad idea? This bad boy won't ever see the interstate, but possibly country roads every once in a while...

Its more like GM hubs are smaller than all the others. ;)
I'm faced with cutting that lip out of GM wheels also. I'm not liking the idea because of the weight of the rig and the overweight loads I tend to carry.
If it was the flat-center dually wheels it wouldn't bother me.
