hmm...info plz?

year
truck
etc. etc.

and from my knowledge, i don't think there is a 14 bolt 6 lug...in fact there isn't, thats a 1 ton rear and the only 6 lugs are 1/2 tons.

Uh, yea there is a 6 lug 14 bolt. Its a semi floating unit with a 9.5" ring gear.

They came under 88-98 LD 2500's and a fair number of 1/2 tons designated as heavy halfs(mine originally was equiped like this). They are also under the VortecMax optioned 1/2's for the 99-06 trucks(whatever years the VortecMax package was avaliable).

14 bolts came under 3/4 and 1 tons. you want info on the 14 bolt go read the 14 bolt bible in the tech section.

14 semi floaters arent 1 ton axles:confused:

but yes 88-98 2500s had em. our old work truck did.

Those are 8 lug though, needs new brakes and shafts to convert it over to 6.

i found mine under a six lug 2500, they can also be found under a few higher gvw 1500's. eight lug versions are under most 2500's with the higher gvw's getting the FF 14 bolt. for the new style trucks, the vortec max trucks have 6 luggers and the 1500hd's have eight lugs.

mine will be up for sale in the next month or so. About 15,000 miles on the 3.73 gears, eaton clutch type posi, and all the bearings an seals. i also have the stock 3.42 and G80 posi.

they are available from about 81-present. in both 6 and 8 lug. i have heard that you can get after market hubs to run 6 lug on a 14ff.

X2 I swapped a 6 lug 9.5" SF 14 bolt in the 95 1500 I used to have. Mine came from a '92 2WD 3/4ton, not as strong as the 14bFF but WAAAAYYY better than the POS 10 bolt.

the 9.5" SF axles were found under light duty 3/4 tons with 8 lug axles, under 1500 HD heavy 1/2 tons (already mentioned) with 6 lug axles, Hummer H2s, various moving vans, utility trucks, the latter 3 all being 8 lug (usually)

you can make a full float 14 bolt dully hub work by machining the flang back and turning down the diameter to fit 1/2 ton roters and wheels, you have to use a custom wheel and use allen head cap screws turned down to get the wheel over the axle flang, the brake rotor 5 or 6 hole has to be bored out allso
