I just heard from a friend tonight that there was a accident between a quad driver and a pickup on one of the quad trails and that the head on collision between the 2 killed the quad driver. Is this true. And they are talkin about closing the 4x4 obstacle coarse because it does not atract many people any ways. if this is true I don't want them getting any part of my $4 a year for 4x4 fees from the DMV for use with OHV parks.

We have crap like that happen on the trails in the SE all the time. Never heard of anybody killed but know of a few that will never be right again.
Damn quad drivers are not happy unless they are doing 50mph. Come around a blind curve and POW right into a truck. I about run off trail 1 at Tellico at about a 500ft drop till there was something that would have stopped my truck trying to not kill one of those idiots. I'm to the point where I will not swerve and risk running off a drop to avoid idiots driving like that. I got enough steel in the front of my truck that as long as they don't put their head through my expanded steel grill My truck will not sufer much if any damage.
If that truck was on a ATV trail and shouldn't have been then yeah I hope they hold him accountable. If the truck was where it was supose to be I can pretty well garantee the Quad driver was probably at fault.
Sorry to sound so down on the quads but most of the trail closing problems we are having in the SE are about 90% Quad related. Most of those people have never heard of tread lightly and If the trail is backed up they don't think twice about hauling off through the woods where they don't belong. Were fighting to keep open one trail that bisects a Wilderness area. Everyting it comes up the greenies pull up a picture of a ghost trail that is about 40 inches wide. No Truck caused it. Some local jack off on a quad. I understand it's not all but unfortunaly it a high percentage that are causeing the problems.

It's starting to sound like the same song
Truck=boat
ATV=Jet Ski

A few bad apples will spoil it for everybody! The banned list of lakes in cali for Jet Skis is growning. Will the ATV suffer the same fate?

No doubt that would have made the paper and the TV news. Sure hope it's just a rumor
