Has anyone been up around the Tahoe side yet? A buddy and I are wanting to get all the way through before Mem. weekend. How is the snow from little sluice on? Can we get all the way through?

Generally the last snow to melt is up on the Tahoe side after you go past Observation point. It can be snowy up there long after the snow has melted of the rest of the trail. Memorial day usually finds quite a bit of snow up there, but this year the snow has been real light so maybe.

I'm headed up to the Tahoe side tomorrow. I'll try and remember to take a few pics.

Perfect, thanks guys. We are hoping to get all the way through next weekend. We are gonna head in Friday afternoon/evening and wheel a good portion of the night then wheel out the Tahoe side by Sunday. I am hoping we can get all the way out.

I would expect to hear there is plenty of slushy snow up there. Go prepared.

Slushy snow, a few downed trees.

Suprisingly a lot more snow that I expected. We went as far as Morris Rock on Cadillac. Then we hiked down to the sharp turn.

Right now I would ask people to stay off the trail where there is still snow. In a few weeks more snow will be melted and the trail will open a little more.

The trail will be there all summer long. Don't be in a rush to check it out. Wait for it to dry out some more.

The snow drifts were from just out of the staging area to about Bottom Dollar Hole or Million Dollar Hole. That's about a mile west of the turn off Barker Pass Road. There were more drifts past that but more infrequently.

The draining at the mud hole we worked last summer was still working well.

I'll post pictures later. I took about 80! It's sometimes nice to be a passenger. Locked and geared, my 31's were not enough to match the melting snow, so I rode.

Cruzilla posted some pictures for me under the Rubicon Rock Moving thread.

It is still really wet. Please stay on the trail if you go. Tread Lightly!

Be prepared. Bring a chain saw. Use it only to cut trees that have fallen across the trail. We used the chain saw three times. One spot a lot of people had just driven off the trail and around the tree. Not good!
