No Scout progress again...

Spent the last week or so in Florida and the Bahamas. :smokin:
Had a great time. Went to a wedding on the beach in Clearwater:beer: , took a cruise, drank a metric shit ton of alcohol at Senor Frog's in Nassau:grinpimp: , spent a day at sea in the middle of the first named tropical storm of the year:barf: , and put about 3400 miles on my car.

Left Florida Friday morning at 9 am and got to my house at 7 am saturday morning. Not sure why I decided to drive 1400 miles in one shot... seemed like a good idea at the time. :shaking:

I must still be a little tired, I'm using way to many smilies and typing real long sentences. :flipoff2:

Friday I built a stand for the bench grinder out of an old car rim, 4 inch tub, and some plate. Works alot better than having it sit on the shelf. Now the problem is where to put it?

Saturday I worked on the in-tank pump. Drilled some new holes for the bulkheads and mocked up how I am going to mount the pump. Haven't got to the wires yet, should I drill one hole and run both wires through and seal with some RTV, or two small holes and some 10-32 screws?
Later I went to a friend's house and assisted in the breakage of 3 t-maxxes. Mine just needs a couple wires soldered in the battery box, the other two were involved in a head-on collision.

Sunday I chopped a hole in the bed of the scout, cut out the crossmember above the rear axle, and mocked in my fuel cell. I also borrowed a 39 inch Krawler to see how it would fit if I decided to carry a spare. Really not bad leaning up against the fuel cell, althought it would pobably take two guys to get it out if I did get a flat. I'll finish the fuel pump and shoot some pics for the build thread tomorrow or Tuesday.

I'm got to step 5 of 2,000,000 on my EFI project

I still haven't finished thinning the harness I started marking a few months ago but had to put aside.

On the other hand, I just bought TWO  454 throttle bodies.. I've been trying to buy ONE for the last few months, and now I have two on the way. d'oh.

On Saturday, I put the car-seat in the trail Scout and loaded up my daughter and wife for a trail ride. Little one is 10 months old, and this is her third trail ride.

Dang car seats are a tight fit in a SII back seat.. hangs over the front bench a bit.

Lunch spot (barely stopped the entire way up)

http://www.m4x4a.org/gallery2/d/35437-2/IMG_9114.JPG

Only one other rig went with us - Jason and his wife in the low-buck FJ.. dual transmissions welded together n' all..

http://www.m4x4a.org/gallery2/d/35467-2/IMG_9124.JPG

We did find some snow to play in..

And Jason was kind enough to snap a few pictures for me.

Had a fun day, nice weather, good company, and my kid was great. She didn't want to stand barefoot in the snow, but she enjoyed the chance to crawl about at lunch time.

She seemed to fair better in her car seat with her head against the side than Michelle did doing the full-circle head-banging up front.

It didn't get called "Tigger" because it rides smooth.

Found a little time today to pack the lower king pin bearings and assemble the bottom of the knuckles on my Travelette's Dodge 60.

Discovered I was shorted the two nylon bushings, though.. gotta track down a pair now.

Admired some of my painted parts from last weekend..

(The outer fenders and lower valence are probably going to the strip shop before I paint 'em)

Also repacked U-joints and pressed 'em in/out of the 60 shafts. I need to get some more retaining clips before I can finish - a few had outlived their usefulness.

I've been hanging on to my 14 bolt brake drums to use as a bench grinder stand. ( that will never happen as I don't have room either) As for you fuel cell, without a picture I can't see where the 1 hole two wires, or 2 holes and 10/32 screws would go. Just look at how the OEM's run their wires.

As for the Scout, I started the new donnor motor, so at least it runs. I will hook up the rest and test drive it this commng week.

Still need to box the inner part of the 'C' notch too. Full up has 7" of belly clearance, full down leaves sparks:smokin: Why did I put 'Se habla espanol' on my business card??!!:shaking:

Saturday: Breakfast with Grandma and the family for Mother's Day celebration number one. Then installed a new brake booster on the DD and magically I have brakes again. Finished out the night at a party with some old college friends. Had a few beers and a few shots. Good time all around.

Sunday: Got up late and went out to breakfast with some friends. Then home, clean up, watch a little NASCAR and head to my Aunt's house for Mother's Day celebration number two. This time is was turkey with all the sides!!!:D :D. Got home late, watched the end of the NASCAR race, then some of the stuff on Powerblock (DVR's kick ASS). BS'ed with Binderbound for a bit (really a highlight of my night:flipoff2: :flipoff2: ) Then watched Duke's of Hazard Unrated, best I could do for a T&A movie:flipoff2:

I've been wanting to 4-link and bag my '01 CTD for a couple years now, but I've got no use for the c-notches. I have no interest in laying frame, I just want the bags for ride quality and height adjustment with various loads. It's just a "want" so it is low on the priority list and keeps getting pushed aside for other stuff.

Sun: Drove back down here to Manhattan, then went up to the lake for a little bit, and hung out with some friends.

Today: Laid some tile down in the kitchen and bathroom. Then tried to unclog a serious clog in the kitchen sink but that was a no-go.

My weekend started on Wed... I somehow managed to pinch a never in my neck which got me out of work and got me a sweet dose of muscle relaxants

Wed: Slept and lounged
Thur: Slept and lounged --- I did drive my Scout for about an hour logging efi data.
Fri: Healed enough to work on my to do list. Nothing really Scout related. Touched up some terrible paint on my Dodge with some even more terrible paint, I suck at paint.
Binderbound came over and sabatoged my evening and witnessed me try to kill a family of birds. I layed off the muscle relaxants and switched to beer - thus the bird terrerizing episode.
Sat and Sun - Wasted with family and yard and house crap. And a horrible, horrible baby shower for a friends wife :barf:
Mon: Sold some parts - now I can spend some money on my Scout!!! $$$

The P.O. is losing his stuff right and left. I ordered some stuff and it should have been here in like 1 or 2 days since I only live about 30-40 miles from his shop. He re shipped the items and I got my junk up and running:smokin: A month later a package arrives and its the original order. I called him up to let him know and find out about shipping it back. He told me to just keep it for the hassle:grinpimp:

[QUOTE=R290;6803917]Did you get the stalling issue resolved?

Yes, I pulled the stock pump of one of my other scouts and installed it. Works perfect. I have not heard back from the manufacturor of the other one yet, maybe it had issues. I went out and wheeled in some knarly stuff the other day and no squeels, stalling or lack of turning power. I like the spool in the front now that the steering issue is taken care of:smokin:
