My wifes '95 auto tranny slips between 2nd and 3rd, then hooks up. Anyone know of a good place to locate a replacement, or has anyone done a rebuild on one of these? I have rebuilt my Ford AOD, and it was a snap, are the GC's a lot tougher? Any help is appreciated, trying to watch my pennies in this economy. Oh yeah, they want like 2 grand minimum to rework it, does that come with a bandaide to stop the bleeding?

I had this happen to me. What did I do? Added a full bottle of Lucas transmission additive. Just do this, and then email me with what happened. I have 55,000 miles on this setup and its still running strong. Shifts better than stock.

Mechanic In a Can stuff may help, just depends on what is wrong. The front portion of the tranny is similar to a TF 727 or Tf999, and is quite easy to rebuild. The rear portion has the OD clutches and gears, and i *think* may be a bit of a pita without some special tools. I have not been in one of these OD units myself, but have seen it done.

The Grands are notorious for failing TPS (throttle position sensors), which can cause this type of lurching between gears.

I know, I know, flame on... but there are some guys in speed freaks that really know their new trannies. It's probably worth a try. :D

My momma's gc has two second gears. If you are on the throttle hard it picks the lower 2nd and visa versa. Don't know if yours is the same. Has it always done this? If so, it's probably the way it is supposed to be...
