Well, I had a little change in plans after a couple of months of debating what to do with my truck after the rollover. I got a nice insurance check and am going to by another one just like it to drive, and make this a wheelin truck. So, I got down to work on it one day this week, and mad some progress. I got it running and took care of that roof that was level with the hood.

After lifting the truck off the ground with a forklift through the cab:

The new yota...a little more "body work" and a cage and we'll be ready to go. I guess I gotta order a bender now.

Getting rid of those fenders and bed will help too. Heck, why stop there, cut off the rest of the cab - but KEEP THE A/C:D

Yes, fenders and hood will be gone too, and a flatbed is prolly somewhere in the future.

Bob, when I parted out my first tow rig, I drove it home from the recycler with no front clip, no roof, no doors, no bed, just me on the bench seat, about 15 degrees out... still had the heat going full-blast, with the battery bungee-corded to the air cleaner for the ride. Folks sure thought it was odd seeing something driving down the road with just engine and tires forward of the firewall. :)

Ryan, I like it so far... I don't dig the no-fender look on Toys, but that's a pretty minor thing. The no roof no doors no bed thing, I dig, as long as you live someplace warm. Plus, you can't mangle it if you don't have it.

Thanks Scott. I like the no fender thing if its a buggy and the whole thing is just tube. I'm going to pick some fenders and a hood up at a yard and then exo the front. Down here in GA we have too much mud to be running no fenders (or at least too much for me). Plus, with it the way it is now ( and I would imagine it would be the same w/ no fenders) the fan blows all that hot air off the engine right into my face.

The side shot looks real weird, with no roof it seem's longer than hell, even though they are long alreadhy. Be carefull what you do with that sawzall, there is no coming back BBWWAAHHAA :D:D:D

I say slap a new set of fenders on it, and dump the back of the cab and bed, and build a cage that incorpurates the bed into it. But keep the TOY character, mine is has been wheeled close to 10 years, and I still have a full cab, ok ok ok, no top, but the rest is there ;)

OK, you got me. If the bed is gone, how could a cage incorporate it? I am interested in ya'lls sugestions because I am not exactly sure how I am going to build the cage, or if I'm gonna keep the bed or FB, etc. Thanks for your input

No, dump the bed, they just don't look right with no top, and yours beining so damn long, even bobbed, won't look quite right. Basically do a full halo, 4 down bars, then build a narrow bed(basically a flat platform" then have runners from te cage to the outer edges of the rear of the bed, and run a couple of cross bars. I actually would keep about 4-5" of the cab at the rear for storage, but you could bend up some tube that follows the origional contour of the body, I have seen a couple of setups like this, just no damn pics to show it
