Let me just say up front that, yes, I am a newbie, but I have been lurking for about 6 months and know how things work. I did a search and came up with nothing usefull. This may not be on the level of 300+ crawl ratios and 38 inch tires, but I need help, and JU is full of Shmucks

Okay, so I lifted the XJ 4 inches and then took a trip to the Blackrock Desert and beat the crap out of it. The front ps tire looks tilted out like I bent something to change the camber. I know the camber is not adjustable on this d30 axle. So, is there a simple DIY way to measure camber? Also, my toe is set way in and I can't get one of the TREs to loosen so I can fix the toe. I tried penetrating spray and tapping it with a hammer and it still won't budge with visegrips, any suggestions?

Don't worry about the camber until you get the toe right. Most of the time if toe is WAY off it will also look like the camber is jacked up. Really. Now, to turn that rusty old tie rod- two words, pipe wrench. I only had one vehicle blow a tie rod from using a pipe wrench, and it was a Saab. So no worries.

Yeah, what he said... In my case I had to use 2 18" pipe wrenches the first time I tried to adjust my tie rod...

If something WERE bent enough to affect your camber, you would notice it without a doubt... Your inner knuckles or your axle tube itself would have to bend, or you'd have to blow a ball joint...

Pipe wrenches are the key as above mentioned.if nothin else get a new one and keep the old one for a spare.I used to bend mine all the time on My 99 XJ until i got an alumi-flex.of coarse 37s do that sort of stuff.:D

Thanks everyone, I borrowed a pipe wrench from a neighbor and it put the visegrips to shame.
