had 33" ssrs and got sick of hitting everything so i up graded to full width ford 9 and a hp 44 in the front with 5.13 gears and 37" ssrs started to build it at least here some pics

Hey, I likey.... Im looking at done a very similar setup for my YJ soon. A couple Questions tho.


What size of lift did you have before the 37s and after?

What did you pull ur 44 and 9" off of?

befor the 37 i had a 3" tereflex with a 1inch tereflex body and when i put the 37's on i just put my 2" budget boost on top till i get coils i want 5.5 re coils, and i got my axels out of a 1979 ford bronco will get more pics this weekend

Exactly the same axle combo I'm working on (save the gear ratio). Very nice. Any plans to stretch it at all?

Edit: I see the comp cut again(I was mainly looking at the last pic...can't see any stretch there). How much stretch?

havent put the axels in yet i am building a custom long arm that in there now is a super 35 when the ford 9 goes in it will be pushed back 6" and the 44 front will be 4" forwand with a chevy astro van box everything should be done memorial weekend

Cool. i love my OX, never a problem. The Eaton, well, that's another story:shaking:

I'm also getting a set of axles from a '79 Bronco for '99 TJ... Any advice or surprises that you ran into in the swap? I heard that '78 - '79 had some strangeness with their front axles...

I am running that axle setup as well, no suprises that I know of. just dont get an axle with cast radius mounts get the front axle with the wled on ones.

by the way I thought that the astro steering box gave about 8 in stretch in front, is there something you are doing to net only 4?

ya no problems with the axels, i found a cheap way to make disks on the back you take chevy 1/2 ton backing plates, and 1/2 ton chevy calpers take 3.250 out of the backing plates so they fit over the tubes, and stock ford 5on5.5 roters from the front and with a welder you have disks, better than 200 for drum brake parts, the only downfall is an e brake which i an getting a t case e brake, will get more pics this week

oh ya the asto van box is that out of a 2 wheel drive or all wheel drive
