Anyone else going? I"m heading down with a few buddies who go every year at this time. Staying in some cabin that is apparently inside the park.
So who else will be out on the trails?

I don't want to be the wet blanket but be careful when you go. The law up there is getting nasty around holiday weekends. Random searches, tag laws, etc. Just be ready to be stopped. Your best bet to stay out of all of that is to come in from the TN and head directly up 6 or the NC side and hit 4. The area just beyond 6 leading to 5 is where they like to hang out.

so as long as the jeep has it's own current plates on it and i'm not drinking I'll be fine? Sounds like a normal day in the woods.
5 1/2 hours until I leave on a journey to pop my tellico virginity!!!!

Not everyone has tags. In NC there's no way in hell my Jeep could ever get a tag. Then parking gets crazy. Everyday I have to drive to the Stateline to unload and find a parking space rather than drive up with the Jeep. It's a big deal trust me. When you get there, you'll see.
As far as booze goes, I agree I don't drink on the trails but let's say you wake up hungover and Mr. Park Ranger smells you when he stops you. Well, be prepared to fall out and unload all your shit. It's a pain.

no, but as said. They give you enough to get from the parking lot to the trail head. Go beyond that and it's at your own risk.

Theres a possibility I'll be up there with buddies camping on the TN side on Memorial Day (mon.).
I think they'll want to fish :shaking:, but I might hit trail 5 w/my Heep.
Nothing Hardcore (it's kind of a Daily Driver)...
I just can't fish when theres a wheeling spot not 2 minutes away.
It looks like this :D VVV
