So here is my problem. It is a 1977 Bronco witha 302. The truck has been sitting for a few months now without running. I tried to fire it up todaym, anbd no go. So I start it with the starting fluid, which it does just fine. I was hgopinh once the motor started up the fuel filter would fill up and work, but NOPE. How do I know if it is my fuel pump? I kept the truck running for a little bit of time of starting fluid, but the fuel iss till not feeeding up to the filter. Do I have a clogged line, or a bad fuel pump. I tried sucking on it, and I still can't get anything out of it.

If it’s 25 years old just replace the fuel line and pump ….. hell that’s only 40bucks:p

You can hook a hose from a gas can to the pump to eliminate a few things.
FWIW, I'd just pour a little gas in the carb to keep it running, I use gear oil bottles, they work good... starting fluid is hard on engines.

Does it have any gas in it?
More than likely you fuel pump has gone south.....:skull:
blow compressed air through the lines. (not through the fuel pump.) you can have someone listen at the fuel filler for the air bubling in the gas tank. If the little filter in the tank is plugged it will get blown off of the pickup. Then just install an inline filter along the frame rail before the fuel pump. If the lines are clear, then you know it is the fuel pump.

Try pointing your rig down hill and taking the fuel line off of the inlet on your fuel pump. If it starts flowing, it's not the pump.

when I let my truck sit for a while the gas in the floats evaporate, so i just take an old beer bottle full of gas and fill the floats up through the vent and it will start right up and has enough gas to get the pump to draw more

It sure is hot and humid down here, but I don't really notice the bugs. Maybe you bring them with you when you come! :D
