the rough country 4.5" kit has an option between rear leaf springs or rear add-a-leafs and shackles. what are the benifits of rear leaf springs compared to add-a-leafs with shackles?

Besides the obvious differences, AAL and shackles will net you the same lift as the whole new leaf pack. Go with the leaf pack.

Generally a full leaf pack will flex and ride better then a AAL for obvious reasons.

I would steer clear of RC though, try to go with a company like Rubicon Express or BDS.

The add-a-leaf will make for a much harder ride. If you want stiff then that's what you want. I would recommend the full leaf pack instead.

okay thanxs.. the rig i bought came with a 2" lift dont know what brand. but is RC like bad? should i steer more towards RE?

RC leafs seem to have a problem with bending, I have 2 friends that tweaked there springs within the first few trips out, and have heard of many other case's of it happening, but there are also some happy customers. I've never had a problem with any of my RE kits or heard or any problems.

i agree with GroundClearance on the companys. I really like Rubicon Express myself.

I just put an add-a-leaf on the rear of my cj7 and I like it, it's not stiff at all. I bought it from Superlift but it came in a Trailmaster box.

Thats alittle weird. you'd figure it would come in a Superlift box.

Somebody said Superlift was bought out and they bought more lift companies. Is that true? They sent me a black diamond ss also but I know they own them.
