I did a search and didn't find the info that I wanted so I am going to try my luck with a thread. I am going to a pick-n-pull tomorrow and I am going to try to find a np435. I was wondering, what truck do I look to find it out of(4wd or 2wd), how do I check it to see if it is decent, will it adapt to my bellhousing(302), and if I find a six cylinder with a np435 will that work?

Personally I would get the 4wd version since you are putting it in a 4wd.. Other than the tail housings the 435'sare the same.. If you find a 435 behind a 300 six cylinder you can use the bellhousing to bolt to your 302 if you dont already have one..

If you get the 4wd, get the adapter and xfer case as well. Otherwise I think you want the 2wd version. Go to http://www.classicbroncos.com and then the links section and go to the NP435 links. They will tell you what to look for.

The bellhousing is standard and will bolt up to your 302 housing.

Make sure you get one with the shifter!

4x4 NP435 has a 31 spline output
2x4 NP435 has a 28 spline output
the bolt pattern for the adapters are diff. as well.

is that bronco site gone? or down temporary?

If it is for your early Bronco then use one from a 67-83 Ford truck F100-350 small block, 28 spline output shaft with square tail housing bolt pattern. They also come bolted up to 360 and 390 engines. If you find one in a four wheel drive, it's best to use the ones that are bolted directly to the transfer case; they usually have the correct output shaft.

yup that was me!! The only problem was, I couldn't get the damn thing out. I could have but I just didn't have enough time. We had to be at my brothers at 4 o'clock to go to the con. Anywayz, I went back today to get it and sure enough someone snatched it. We put all the work into taking it out, just to leave it there. Oh well, there will be another:D

The good thing is, I am pretty sure that was a t-18 and I want an np435. I would have settled with that though:)

The tell tale is the aluminum shift cover on the NP435. If its dirty use a magnet, if it sticks to the cover - T-18, if it dont stick NP435:D

You should have dropped that bell housing. Oh well, it wasn't ment to be. I didn't find anything there. I was not impressed at all.
