A friend just got back from a trip around the west coast,
ok his truck was just DOT inspected less then 2 months ago, and no one said any thing about rule changes up coming
he had stop in sac for the night and saw an add for a trailer that he called on and made arrangement to buy it on his return trip from reno the next day, whic he did he picked up a heavy car hauler trailer 25 feet long.
while sitting in the hotel room he saw an add from a person looking to move a tractor from Fresno ca to Roseburg Oregon so he called the person and talked with him and the story was he had just bought it and wanted it moved from the farm it was at, to his place just outside rose burg, he was on his way home and it would help off set the fuel cost back home.
He drove to Fresno and had a meeting with the people then followed them to the farm. at which point they started asking him about several thing he had never heard about then they gave him a ticket.
it seems now any truck hauling has to have commercial plates on it and it has to be inspected and rated at 28000 lb ie we can no longer run light truck tires we have to buy different tires, it also seem there are now other states the require you to stop and get trip permits to cross there states any one know any thing about these changes the company we work for has just heard of them also but not a lot of information
