I have a 1995 TBI 350 engine with factory oil cooler. Will be
using it in a light trail rig so want to eliminate the factory oil
cooler setup. It has a bolt-on aluminum housing that mates to
the block where the oil filter normally goes. The filter then screws
to this housing. I thought I could just pull the
housing and the
filter would screw to the block. No go.....must need some other
none cooler style block fitting.
Anybody know? Thanks.

get an adapter off a non-oil cooler block and the bolts. It will bolt right up. Save the parts for future use might need them costly to go buy new.
Have a small line made to out and right back into the housing...

I probably dont know what I am talking about....:smokin:
but I took a oil cooler unit off of a truck before and see if you can follow this....
1. took oil filter off..
2. took aluminum adapter off
3. unscrewed threaded piece off of aluminum piece
4. screwed it straight into the block
then all was good. This worked for me but I dont know if it will for you. see if the threaded piece will unscrew from the adapter first...
hope it helped somewhat....

Looks like it will unscrew from the aluminum housing, but the block doesn't appear to be threaded for the fitting.

IIRC there is a piece that bolts on in place of the oil filter adapter w/a factory oil cooler. Some aftermarket ones just spin on.

Found out the dealer sells the non-cooler housing for about $20. Thanks for the info.
Anyone wanna buy a factory cooler housing along with the factory hose?
