i have a fj that has been sitting in my yard since i moved in, has everything except motor and trans, seats are there but not bolted in, same with the t-case and fuel tank. what are these things worth? it has some light surface rust, but i live in the desert so it's not bad. any input would be nice

Well if it's really a 1960, it'd be an FJ25. Should be on the data plate.

If so, theres a 25 specific forum on mud at

http://forum.ih8mud.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49

With probably the most knowledgable 25 folks around.

Got any pictures? Are the door openings and rear wheelwells round?

e mail me pics at kkaiser at sbcglobal dot net if you like.

This was my '60 FJ-25.... (regret, regret, regret selling it but it paid some rent while in college)... it was worth enough for the German who bought it to pay the price and the shipping across the pond... does yours resemble this one?

yup, that's a 25 alright. looks pretty good. the market for them is kinda weird cause parts are really hard to find if not impossible.

I remember a certain Mod that used to have a sticky on this forum with the links Woody has over on Mud to FAQ's and Tech stuff.........
Sometimes I feel as if the big dawgs over here are wanting us to choose............and that don't sit well with most of us .....:mad3::mad3:

Before my time!:(

I'd sure like to see that, and wouldn't mind helping organize it either. Dhondagod has got a heck of a lot of that stuff already cataloged. It would be an enormous jump start on a project like that.

It's better to be part of the solution.:)

Yes, it's a 25. My rule of thumb for pricing is - slightly less than a 40 in similar condition. Scarcity does not make them more valuable, just odd that way. Looks like a 59 - early 60. What's the first two digits of the VIN start with?

The 25 is pretty original, it would be a treasure for someone who wants to do a real resto. Problem is finding that person.

If you build it up and don't keep the orginal drivetrain, PM me and I'll try to find a home for it. Or PM me about that transfer case, there's something special about it. ;)

And thanks to Texican for pointing me from there to here. :flipoff2:
