As many of you know public land that is available for general recreational use is constantly at risk for closure. Trails and land that have been open for decades are always being re-evaluated by the request of various parties. In order to keep these trails and land open for public use please continue to express your wishes to keep them open.

Please sign this petition to keep land open to off road vehicles and other recreational users.

I emailed this org and asked what they will do once they have the 50000 signatures.

"We will use the signatures to show legislators how much public support there is to preserve multiple use lands & keep them open to all of the public"

not sure how much help it will do but it cant hurt, lets get this out to everybody and anybody, lets send it to everybody on your email lists people, post it everywhere

Said this a million times and I'll say it again. It has been well documented that these petitions are practically WORTHLESS, one petition with 50,000 signatures carries less weight than ONE well written letter or email. If this issue really concerns you take the time it would to sign the petition and write a letter/email to your congress people about the issue. Just think of the power that 50,000 letters/emails has as opposed to 50,000 signatures on the same e-petition.

On line petitions are worthless, I've even quit putting up links to them on ORC. :shaking:

BTW, I'm working on a form letter to mail to CA state and U.S. legislators. I'll post it up with links to where you can send it. Anyone out there that has a link handy for those addresses, it would be appreciated.
