I am just wondering the different spring set ups that you guys are running out their. I am in the process of replacing the stock cruiser springs with something but not sure what yet. I am going to be running 37" or 38". and I also want to have a wheel base of 100-103". Let me know what guys are running.

Thanks Heath

I just run reversed stock springs. Seems like alot of guys are going with the F150's, FJ55's or waggies. I am going to try the f150 route and try to be around 106"

Rubicon express cherokee rear springs, 4.5's in the rear, 3.5's in the front. Super flexy and 100 inch wheel base. With 38.5 tsl's.

I was thinking of going the F-150 route. Do you know what years are good to run and the specifications of the springs like length and distant from eyes to center pin?

From what I can gather which I could very well be wrong. 57" eye to eye 25/32 offset, and you should be able to find them on late 70's early 80's

Hey Jimmy I was wondering if you could tell me what year F-150 you got those off of and if it was 4wd or 2wd, and are those springs 2.5" wide? Also what is the center pin offset. And by the way your rig is awesome!!

Thanks Heath

they are 57-58" long 8" offset pin. 2.5 wide. found on tons of different ford 2wds

on the ford you will find the long side back. so you will obviously run the short side back on the rear and forward on the front or the springs serve no purpose.

They are 56" long with 25"/31" offset, 2.5" wide.

STUPID NEWBIE QUESTION :flipoff2:

I am wanting to lengthen my wheelbase when I rebuild my 40 and was wondering if those springs can be mounted to the stock locations or do you have to fab up new mounts? If you need new mounts, do you weld them in the same places, as the stock ones?

well deepnds are you shackel reversed in the front? it might mess with yoru steering angles. in the rear we flipped teh hanger around to allow for more lengthening back there, the front can use the stock mounts in front but will need new in rears as the springs are way longer than cruiser springs. easy stock trick is to flip your exsisting springs they are offset 2 inches so youd get 4 inch total. mine sits at 105. jiMMy

I am going to do the SR during the build to. I am just trying to decide what all I want to do, and get a plan in my head before starting. I guess I need to decide how long I want the wheelbase to be. I would like to run the 55 springs, but I think finding them may proove difficult around here. Decisions, decisions...

Sounds like I'm a little late...but to answer your original post I run front waggies at all 4 corners. The flex is awesome...even better than my blazer springs I was running previously, which were better than my super flexy 14 year old worn out SUA double spring wrap rancho 2.5 inchers...whew that was quite a spring description!:p

Oh yah, I run 38.5x14.5s and have no rubbing.

Another question for those of you running the F-150 springs I was wondering what the length was between the front cross member on the cruiser frame the one that the front grill sits on and the center pin on the front spring hanger?

I am running the 3" wide 150's. They are pretty easy to figure out because the short end of them is within 1/2" of being the same as the long end of the cruiser springs. So on a SOA SR you can just use the same mounts as where the stock springs were.

As a side note I am thinking of changing my set up and building a hybrid F-250/F-150 spring for the front. The 150s are just too soft and bottom out too easily. Hopefully stiffening the front will actually soften the ride by not hitting the bump stops when I come off the big whoopde-dos. Of course a Big-Block and 40's isn't helping my situation either.
