Use a digital volt meter, when the throttle is closed, the TPS output should be between .53 and .55 volts.
Loosen the two holddown bolts and move the TPS to change the voltage reading.

The one that has fluctuating voltage <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> .The input wire is a constant voltage, the TPS feeds a fluctuating voltage through the output wire to the ECM depending on the position of the thottle. Maybe you should go to the book store and find a good TPI book, it's better to understand the whole system before you start.
