binderbound 05-24-2007, 01:17 AM If history is any kind of indicator.........
BRAAAP41 05-24-2007, 06:32 AM it is in line with my t case not pointed at it!
larboc@hotmail.com 05-24-2007, 07:37 AM uhhh, search?
Cut and turn and run CV. Then go get an automatic XJ shaft or one from a 77 down chevy and shorten it.
Brandon 05-24-2007, 07:54 AM it is in line with my t case not pointed at it!
then ya don't need a cv, Check out tom woods site for diagrams

I may have a d-shaft that would work for you if you are running 1310 stuff and you have a D20 t-case. Yeah, I know, that may not be you at all.
I SOAd my 800 and tried to run a non-CV shaft but I had to do a cut and turn. This shaft uses a Toy top joint (higher working angle) and is longer than stock. I was SOA on 2.5" lift springs and I pushed the axle forward 1".
Now...I would be very surprised if you can get away without a cut and turn unless your t-case is moved back (doubler) or you really pushed the front axle forward. The Scout front shaft length is pretty short. I could not get full d-shaft rotation during droop without binding the upper joint.
You may be able to use a Tom Woods offset u-joint to get out of a bind.
larboc@hotmail.com 05-24-2007, 09:19 AM ...my front driveshaft isnt long enough...
I'm sorry, I just can't let an opportunity for a "That's what she said" joke go to waste.

WOW!!:idea::eek: And that NOT the same thing we say to every time someone has a SOA question
Not picking on you mtroy... its more directed at BBRRAATT and all the rest of the newbies that don't want to 'take the effort' of doing it right and performing a cut-n-turn... plus BBRRAATT has a bit of a reputation here, hence binderbounds comment.
NVScouter 05-24-2007, 09:51 AM I'm waiting for an EAT SHEET AND DIE FAGGOT post now :flipoff2:
larboc@hotmail.com 05-24-2007, 03:53 PM EAT SHEET AND DIE FAGGOT :flipoff: <---(this bitch is ANGRY!!)
Eat a knife.
Find some traffic to play in.
And most importantly, drink bleach, lots of it.
BRAAAP41 05-24-2007, 09:16 PM ok il drink sum bleach but i just dont have the time to do a cut and turn much less actually spend time cutting and turning a d27 WTF haha soo a offset u joint should get me out of a bind + Notch the subframe??? maby you all can post sum pics im trying to post ome pics of the rig as it sits now but my camera isnt working i will post as soon as i can though!
BLK Scout 800 05-24-2007, 10:10 PM These kind of posts are for the BB not a ''hardcore'' 4x4 site like pirate :shaking: We need some fucking real tech :flipoff2:
lagit_fj40 05-24-2007, 11:17 PM you guys are mean...maybe i wont post my fender flare install thread:flipoff2:
Urban Wheeler 05-25-2007, 12:38 AM You SOA'd a D27?
misterfubar 05-25-2007, 08:06 AM You SOA'd a D27?
It's the latest thing. Someone realized they are an extremely tough axle and they have just been getting a bad rap all these years. :shaking:
RustoleumWhite 05-25-2007, 09:54 AM You SOA'd a D27?
Ya.
Because IIRC he didn't have the time or money (or was too lazy) to swap in a real axle.
IIRC when he first started posting here EVERYONE of us, with a couple possible exceptions said save the time and money and don't use the D27, but he didn't listen. Now he 'doesn't have the time' to do a cut-n-turn.... even though in the time it has taken him to make and check this thread he could have done it.
Would be even easier with a D44 or open knuckle D30
for those of you unaware, that might give some insight into his 'treatment' in this thread.
BBRRAATTT, we told you from the begin that you needed to do a cut-n-turn... now you see why :shaking:
larboc@hotmail.com 05-25-2007, 10:12 AM go get some trailer leaf spring perches and weld them onto the 27 and the springs so you don't need bolts, it'll be fine.
Then get back on your snowmobile and play in traffic.
binderbound 05-25-2007, 03:09 PM I'm lost then. Why does he need the cut and turn for just an SOA? I ran mine for years SOA on a 27F( :flipoff2: ) with no need for crossmember mods or CV's or anything else. I did need a new longer drive shaft, but thats a no brainer. It drove fine and wheeled decent. I have a funny feeling we're not getting the full story or somebody jammed a pencil in his ear hole when he was little:D
Urban Wheeler 05-25-2007, 07:55 PM I SOA'd a d27 so I could mall crawl :flipoff2: The stock d-shaft bolted right in.

Thanks for putting up pics that dont show your problem either :shaking:
BRAAAP41 05-27-2007, 12:08 PM FOR the lazy ??????? ohhh sorry no problems after spring sag just need a longer front D-shaft boutta get some 35 in tires and new shocks going to be a compete rebuild!!!
Blind Driver 05-27-2007, 12:41 PM When I added 37"s to my 1100D it wouldn't stop for shit.
That's after I rebuilt all the brakes. New hoses, springs, shoes, calipers, and drums.
It was ok for casual driving, but emergency stops were almost out of the question.
Redue your work with a Dana 44. Fuck, you should have at least pressure washed that bitch first.:shaking:
larboc@hotmail.com 05-27-2007, 12:59 PM I am a huge fan of the spring to axle mounting setup. Is that from blue torch or superlift?
