EDIT: FROR will NOT be building chassis's, there was simply not enough interest to justify it. We will be concentrating on other areas, that may help build these, but will not be looking to produce these in the future.

Actually, you had a lot of details on items that are "decision" items; you didn't have details on the "obvious" stuff that is in many other Toy/FToy builds.

We're considering assembling chassis here to help keep shipping costs lower for folks in this area. We would be getting chassis from Hendrix, just needing welded together. Then assemble the chassis' here.

Let us know if you are interested in building an Ftoy in the area, but the cost of shipping the chassis was killing it. :grinpimp:

From talking with Mike, We'd be about 4 weeks from when we commit to 6 chassis's to the time we would have them in pieces here.

there are a few toy guys talking about it up here in the black hills. I am ready to commit to one for this winter's project.

I'd be intrested, altough I'd be building a Formula Bronco. One of the things thats been holding me form making the dive is the extra $$ to drive out to Cali to pick it up. Would the cost be about the same as buying direct from Hendrix? When would you need the up front cash?

These are the most affordable, well thought-out chassis I've ever heard of. Heck, I spent $750 two years ago for my 7-stick exo!

I'll use a cut down grille and hood for sure. Hope this deal goes through, I'm going to buy one either way and saving $300-$400 in fule would be great.

Very cool... I live over here west of SLC, and contacted Hendrix earlier this year. I'd sure like to drop one of those FToys on my 90 Ranger (hey, its what I got!)... I'm not ready to buy yet, but when I am, hope you can do them!

I have thought about this myself. For the time being I think they would have to be informal ftoy comps. Grab some cones at Home Depot, and setup courses on existing trails. Just have to schedule it with other ftoy rigs. Im guessing/hoping that once we get ours out on trails in CO, that will spark some more interest in ftoys as well. Especially if getting a chassis is easy and reasonable cost.

Off hand areas that would work:

at least 3 rigs would be best. Then youve got people to switch off driving, spotting, judging.

BajaBilly, i'm building now and so is 66fj40x2 and Ellinger anlready has one so order your chassis and start building now. Even if we are just informal people will see them and what they are capable of and more will be built. F-toy rocky Mtn, I love it!

We've been toying with the idea of doing an Ftoy in the near future... I'll keep you guys posted as things come together! I’d much rather get a chassis that’s a couple hours drive vs. a day or two :D
