Have never been so would not know where exactly where to go,camp, showers etc. Will have the wife and 2 year old daughter so i atleast gotta start off mildly to make sure she doesnt want to end trip early. Nothing concrete but considering it currently. What is it like around the 4th anyway?

I would avoid the 4th of july weekend and take the family to the con on a day when their might be a hundred fewer jackasses :D

I wouldn't bring little kids up there that weekend.

if it has as many idiots with incapable vehicles digging muddy ruts(ruining the trail) or atvs off the trail passing traffic, it will be a moron fest like memorial day...:mad3:

i knew it was a busy weekend but wasnt so sure of the idiot count! Sounds pretty high to me! I think i might save that trip when it is just the guys on a run! Thanx for info everyone!

If your schedule will allow, you might want to think about going in the during the week before the 4th. There'll be about a million fewer idjits. We generally make our first run of the year a week long trip.

Go in on a Monday - haul in a boat - camp & fish at Spider - play all week - watch the Saturday/Sunday destruction derby in the box - come out the following Monday. That way we pretty much have the trail to ourselves.

Come in the week before, loon side of course (showers?) until the evening of the 3rd. watch for details for Carnage for the CON, to be held on the 4th. after Carnage visit Lake Tahoe for the fireworks and the site seeing
