Hey has any one got to the point where they need to move the stearing box forward? I have a 1993 Pathfinder on 44s going to 60s. How do you get around the body mount? I am thinking of cutting it out? what would you do? I am planning to run a chevy box and pump. And if any one has any pics It would help.:D

There are several things you can do. You can move your box forward like Datz510 did.. The write with pictures can be seen over at nissan4wheelers.com , Just click on his sig and it takes you to the pictures. Two, you can get a saginaw steering box that has a forward facing pitman arm and slide it back an inch or two still having the arm way out in front to allow moving the front axle quite a bit forward. Here is a link to the saginaw with pics. http://www.bgaidan.com/gallery/SASsteering

Yeah, I had to move mine to make room for the track bar bracketry on the frame.. I moved it forward about 1" at the input and then rotated it so the pitman arm was forward about 2" total. It worked out really well and gave me the clearance that I needed for my SAS.

Thank you for your info. I think I am going to have to move the body mount. My dana 44 is moved like 3" forward from stock and now I want to put in the dana 60 and move it out even further. I think I am going to need to move the stearing box forward like 6" or better.

If you dont drive it on the road then maybe go full hydro instead?

If you do the saginaw box you can move it a lot farther forward than 6"s, that way you could avoid cutting the body mount.
