I sold this truck a few years back, but just came across these pictures and figured some people here would get a kick out of it.
It was an ex-military truck a friend bought from an auction. 318 with a 727. I believe it was a 3/4 or 1 ton, maybe someone here knows for sure. Bone stock suspension with 40"x17"x16.5" Dick Cepek Fun Countrys. They actually measured about 37". 3" cut out of the fenders and bed to make them fit. They actually fit well and only rubbed a little at full lock.
Since there was no suspension lift the truck still sat relatively low for the size tires it had. Had a pretty decent center of gravity. Wasn't a rock crawler by any means, but around here all we have is mud and some off-camber dirt trails(and huge ruts). This truck could idle through basically everything I ever went through. Always ran like a champ. Yanked a few trucks out that were buried to the frame rails in mud without much struggle.
By far the most fun I've had in a truck. Just gives an idea of a real budget setup. I bought it from a friend for 800 bucks...That was with the tires on it and the sheet metal trimmed already. All I did was a little misc wiring and threw an ehaust system on it.

I was by myself wheeling so I had to park it to take the pictures. Never got any good in action shots.
