: Thinking about a Reign XO

My parents live in Moab and after a 3 hour tour on my GT iDrive I realized I need more bike.

One of the local bike shops is offloading their rental Giant Reign XO's for $1500 in mid July.

I did the smart thing and reserved it for Monday so I can go thrash on it and see if it fits me and does what I want.

Anybody have any personal experiance with the Reign series and or buying used (albeit well maintained) bikes?

Daniel

REALLLL sick bikes man. my brother has one and its a blast to ride. for sea otter this year i rode it instead of my v10 b/c you dont need 10 in of travel and i loved it. my brothers sponsored by giant and just got another one and sold his older reing to me. its now my xc bike. they are very versitile bikes that can do pretty much everything. id say go for it, only worry id have it is a rental. i've ridden rentals that were fine, and some that were clapped beyond belief. id say go over everything really well, and make sure nothing wrong with it. otherwise cant go wrong with the bike.

Thanks, that is exactly the answer I have been getting locally. I am renting the actual bike I would end up with tomorrow. If it sucks I may just pay the premium for a new one if the ride itself is good. We'll see, Chili Pepper has a real good rep as far as their rentals go.

Thanks again.

Giant bikes are awesome. Giant makes frames for some other companies, like Trek and Specialized. Giant owns all their own factories. They don't have to pay a middle man to make their frames. That allows them to sell better bikes for less money than Trek or Specialized.
