: Long Brake Hose

I am changing my Chevy style front Dana 60 brakes from a frame to each caliper brake hose to a center drop style like stock CJ rear brakes. I need to find a more affordable solution to the chassis to axle line than going and buying a rear CJ extended line.

In my search here, I found post that say stock 73-79 F150 lines are longer, and also 68-69 Mustang rear brake lines are longer. Does anyone know what the lengths of these lines are? I need something that is about the same length or a little longer than a CJ rear 4" lift brake hose.

Thanks in advance.

I got a pair of 17.5" lines . . . both ends are female 3/16" inverted flare - C-clip fittings. CarQuest P/N BRKSP4734. List price $50.29 each - Should discount to between $30 and $40. I paid $31 here in NV.

Build your own. Earl's has a whole line of the stuff you can do custom. Not DOT approved, but quality stuff, they use it a lot in street/strip applications.

I just order a set of 27" DOT approved ones through Summit. They are made by Russel. Only $15 for the hoses, but the damn fittings kill ya.

You can combine these 2 hoses to make one long one.

Wagner F108296 $18.59
BestBrakes F49927 $13.99

One of those is the factory CJ rear hose. The other is a hose that will work as an extension. Combined they are longer than the Pro-Comp extended lines by around 6"s. I am using them on my Waggy Model20HD with 7-leaf JCWs SOA. If you need some long front lines these will work with Waggy(GM) calipers and CJ brake lines:

Wagner F120541 $23.99 (26"s long)

Thanks! That is just what I needed to know.

Any idea what those hoses are out of so when in the boonies I can ask by vehicle rather than part number?

Thanks again!

Can't help with the vehicle applications. I got the numbers from NAPA's brake book. There are lots of different hoses in that book over 1000.

I got all of my hoses at O'reilly and they had them in 1 day. They are also cheaper than NAPA. They stock Wagner and BestBrakes brands.
