My Hybrid Rover / Jeep project will have an all Ford drivetrain...of course :D

I plan to use an ORD Doubler behind my T-18, have the 205...need the 203.

Trouble is...no way you can call yards anywhere within 1000 miles of here and ask for an NP 203.

So the best I can do is ask for xxxxx full-time transfer case.

What can I ask for?

Thanks

I assume you want the Married version of the NP-203.

'78-'79 Big Bronco came with the Np-203 as an option.
'77 1/2-'79 F-250 and F-150/100 also had it as an option.
These will be married.

The '73-77 1/2 F-250 the Np-203 will be divorced.
The '73-77 1/2 F-150/100 might have the Np-203 with the Automatic only. It will also be married. If a 4-speed stick then it should have the Dana 21 1-speed.

I may be wrong in when they started installing the NP-203. It may have been 1974 and not 1973.

None after 1979.

Thanks Eric,

Say, I've always meant to ask......where's the sig line quote come from?...I don't think I'm bright enough to get it  but it seems like it's really funny????

'Dr. Strangelove' by Stanley Kubrick, 1963. It's right at the end in the War Room as they are discussing options after the bomb gets dropped. One of my alltime favorite films.:D

Eric,

When I do a search for 79 F150 Transfer case on www.car-part.com, they give an option box for me to select MT, At-part time, AT full-time, and many of the junkyards list the T-case by the trans it comes behind.

Did the 203 ever come behind the MT, or was it behind autos only?

Very few hits come up under At-full time, but quite a few more do under MT...but they don;t go on to list whether the case is part or full time....just "MT".?????

Hmmm, dunno for sure but all of the ones I've seen in running trucks have been behind the C-6 auto. None of the manuals I have state one way or the other. Maybe it was a A/T only thing?
I'll keep my eyes open.

Ford only used the 203 behind the automatics..They can be run behind manuals if that is what you want.. Dodge used them behind both autos and manuals from 75 to 79..
