A friend of mine has been hired to put a 351W EFI, E40D, and BW1356 out of a 1994 F150 into an Early Bronco. I believe it is a 74. It was originally equipped with a 302,c4, and dana 20. I can see no way that this combination is going to fit. It just seems too long. Anyone know anybody who has done such a conversion? links, photos, etc...

Also, anyone used a good stand alone harness for a factory EFI system?

My friend thinks the customer would be better off going with the C4 and dana 20 and just using the 351 EFI motor stand alone. Actually, his real feeling is the guy should have just built a higher HP 302 and left the rest of the drivetrain in tack.

Body is straight. It has a lift and 35" BFG MTs. He has the bolt on fiberglass flares that he wants to keep. My initial reaction was to cut the rear wheel wells back and add length to it. I don't think that is an option with this guy though.

The problem my mechanic friend has is that he is trying to please a customer that doesn't have very realistic expectations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The truck fuel injection won't fit without a 3 in body lift and a cowl hood. replace it with a cobra or FMS intake and convert it to Mass Air rather than bank fire.
I'm not sure of the E40d's length, the AOD is a popular conversion look at the difference betwen the lengths of those two. I'd stay away from the 1356. If a od tranny is what you want. go with the AOD and advance adapter kit back to the D20.

1356 will not fit between the frame rails, 205 barely fits...........

If the customer has unrealistic expectations tell him to take it somewhere else he will be money ahead........................

It's all been done before. I'd suggest hitting up CB.com, do some searching, and read the tech articles.

There are adapters to mate the D20 to the E4OD, it will add some length, but not much.

Get an aftermarket intake, and swap to mass air like suggested above. The truck intakes are ridiculously tall.

Hit up Wild Horses or BC Broncos for their stand alone EFI harnesses (Painless and FordFuelInjection.com harnesses)

BC Broncos has a great new adapter that lets you keep the truck lower manifild and use a Mustang upper manifold. This should solve the hood clearance problems.http://bcbroncos.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=1059 hope that link works:shaking:
