So after my first ftoy comp, some thoughts.

-Its alot of fun
-Welded rear diff not so good when cones are involved
-Longer wheel base good for climbs and trail wheeling not so good for turning when you have welded diff and cones to avoid
-Low belly clearance for lower COG can be a bad thing in this class
-Wide SX's and low air pressure can cause the tires to just bulge at just the right time to touch a cone or two were Krawlers and Maxxis sticky's don't
-Its not too hard on the rigs most people beat their rigs harder trail wheeling.
-Its very technical, in my mind its similar to a chess game
-Teams will drive rigs through the courses in reverse (never even thought about it) just to get in a better spot for clearing gate
-Its alot of fun

Thanks to all the teams that drove up to WA so there'd be some ftoys to compete with. We learned alot about the class and how to get through the courses watching you guys, we could definetly see the experience working to get you through the courses.

That damn last course we ran each day didn't like us :shaking: but I'll be doing some mods to the rig and getting some sticky tires for next time...and am looking at options for running the whole series next year.

And I figure that little flop added some excitement to the class

Backing thru courses is tough. In Vegas I think we spent more time backing than going forward.

I agree about the comps not being that tough on the rigs, so far anyway. Well, except for PUSU. I'm WAY tougher on my rig out on the trails.

You would do alot better on the Cougar buttes courses with your set up.

Im "allmost" glad I sold my rig when I see those tight courses.
Those are the courses you look at and say......." 111" wb, we're screwed"
Im impressed with how well Brett is doing with it.

Yeah they had some tight turns. If I had a rear ARB we would of shaved alot back up points off. I think it was more the welded diff than wheelbase making the corners tight.

For the number of comps vs the amount of trail wheeling I do, I'm keepign the wheelbase.

That trac bar worked so dang well, we're going to swap to that kind on the RockHer II. I'm shocked nobody protested it because it's clearly illegal as it gets.

stir stir stir...

BTW, Toy's use a trac bar?

yes, we are allowed 1 anti wrap bar on the rear. 2 points on the housing and 1 on the rig. and its not to aid in any lateral support.

Hahaha, I'm 107" WB with a spool in the rear. I run over ALL the cones!
