I am looking at getting some 33x12.5 STS allterrains for my 1987 nissan HB. I will be driving mainly on the street and some minor offroad. I might do some light mud now but im headed to Coronado, CA for BUD/S and will be drivin in the sand there prolly. Will this be a good tire for this? and how well do they wear on the street?

Man those are great sand tires! I had 40's on my f-150, and they were great in the sand, the float well, and they dont bite into the sand as much, a mud tire most of the time will bury you pretty good. However they are not that good in heavy mud. Light mud is alright, theyre decent in rocky conditions. They can be a little slippy in rain untill you get used to them. I hope you like them.

And BTW hope you make it through, and when you do, we may see each other some time overseas, I transport people for a living.

Just wondering... where are you going to drive on sand in or near Coronado?

Just noticed you were from Macon GA, Im right down in warner robins.

And as far as drivin on sand in coronado, idk im assuming theres sand there somewhere, or that i would be mostly driving on dry dirt and sand. Unlike all the red clay thats here in georgia.

the sts is a very good to great sand tire. I've run them at pismo and was impressed.

I only had limited street use with them but from the miles I did see they were quite, well mannered and vibration free.
