Your front fender bar at the wheel well wont do you much good, if you have it higher at the top of the fender that will work good for sliding through stuff. Are you adding another tube for the top?

Have you though about moving the gas tank through the floor and dove tailing the rear to make is narrower?

Have you though about boat siding it...

I Wish I boat sided mine and kept it narrower. Eventually Ill have cut it all off and start over.

Definatly needs the cross bar over the cowl :) I'd like to see how you are tieing that front fender bar into the front end, when I do mine it will tie into the bumper and stinger.

They'll be a bar at the hood line. Lower fender bar ties everything to the sliders and keeps the tires from getting cut up...

Gas tank will probably get moved at some point...

Don't really want to make the rear narrower. Need some storage and it will be protected...

Sliders are solid, so no reason to cut them off to boatside it...

End of tonight...

Rear's pretty much done besides an X and some spreaders...

I welded the body to the cage along the roof bars and the rear side tubes.

just an idea, here is how i did mine. Worked pretty good if you have the correct front bumper to tie into.

Sliders hit rocks the higher they are the less they hit.

My rear is narrowed and back halved (bottom cut off) and I have been wedged stuck from it several times.

I havent needed a narrowed front, but raised slideres and narrowed rear fits well on trails. Or do what ever you want...:flipoff2:

I would be concerned that in a roll the A pillar would just push the front fender bar forward which would allow the front corner of the roof to cave in. Have you thought of runnig another vertical down from the A piller bar to the slider like this?

I might put a tube there. Door bars are still going on so i might just plate them and be done with it.

You gonna be able to use the doors with this set up?

Stock doors are gone. Would probably work if the B Pillar was plate or sunken into the cab. Would be cool, but this is just a beater, so I don't want to put that much time into it.

I wanted it out so I hit it with a piece of tubing...Then couldn't find a knife.

It cracked when we took it thru the rubicon, so it had to go.

rock ramp :D

I didn't want to put money into hi steer for it so i put a tube and some plate to slide on. It still needs bracing.

I'll get some pics of it today. :mr-t:

kind of thought so... just wanted to know more

I have seen one rig with one and it wasnt built very well or he used weak tubing and was a bad welder he bent it all the shit, pulled one end off and it seemed to hold him up more then get him forward

Here's some better pictures. I'm going to brace it off the sway bar mounts. It's taken a few hits. Kinda suprised it never bent.

Oil pan...not so lucky :shaking:

That looks pretty good, I think it would bend where you cut the tube to allow the steering to travel

could always do OTK steering with the stock steering to gain a little more room to brace that top again and extra bracing

you could make a skid that mounts on the back of the axle to protect from future oil pan damage

I know I know great ideas right :D

lol

Rockin a D30 too :smokin:

I put chucks of 3/8's where it's notched and the plate is 1/8". Shouldn't bend there.

I got a rusty's belly plate. Just alittle late.

Made a skid plate for the transfer case tonight...

Welded it to the sub frame and crossmember. Not much support, but it'll bottom out on the tcase and be fine.

isn't this what you are trying to stop from happening with a skid?
That case (along with all cast aluminum cases) doesn't take abuse well.. I would think a little more protection could go a long way there...

What I'm stopping with the skid is getting hung up on the case.

The weight will distribute pretty evenly. And when the skid folds up into the case, it will be a third leg. The skid won't wear through the case where it's going to bottom out for a few years.

Kyle, that thing is sick.....too bad the guys bagging on this thing don't realize that you have jack shit into the total build and it would probably out wheel them since you got a secret advantage over them....your lack of care for the rig.
