Tie rods

I'm glad I spotted this thread because I had a question about H3 tie rods:

Can you upgrade them with H2 stuff? Actualy, is there anything mechanical on the H3 that can be interchanged with H2 stuff? (beefier CV joints, etc.)

And if this is too low tech, just point me towards the right forums/sites and I'll do my own reading.

Next to nothing can be swapped easily between H2s and H3s, they are on completely different platforms.

With the Torsion Bar level lift on a H3 do you need new shocks? I see some kits come with shock extenders and some don't.

You can get by without them, but you'll likely end up topping out the shocks. Cognito makes a modified Bilstein shock for the H3's with a t-bar lift. I've got them and they improve the ride significantly.

I think the older H3's and non-Alpha 08's need a new an improved front diff. :D

H3: Hunner's skids are a good add on also. Those lower rear shock mounts tend to get pounded...at least mine did until I put those on.

H2: Fabtech Tie rods, Idler/pitman support. Superchips or Hypertech Programmer (this is good for trouble shooting and clearing DTC's while on the trail if needed).

H1: not sure...didn;t have it long enough. I have seen a couple H1's with some pretty bent up UCP protection and bashed factory rocker panel guards though. ...that may be a good starting point.
