: 10" Scout II Bob, no 1/4 elip...
RustoleumWhite 06-03-2002, 09:35 AM This is a continuation of Troutbum's earlier post.... but I thought I would start a new one just because I like showing off :D

here's 10" off my project Scout II tub (to replace my current tub... when I get to it)
It was surprizingly easy, took maybe 4-hours.... probably less minus distractions, curticy to neighbors.... I'll sell more later, got to pop out for now. But here's a rough down-loaded list of pics.... along with my new front shaft (:barf: on "square" ) and the "ficticious" Hooptie rig on the fork lift....

Dammit, Mark. Stop it! :( I don't WANT to bob my Scout!
I suppose I *could* though.. I'd have to cut down a hardtop, and it would make finding a soft-top a real b*tch.. plus I'll have to fiberglass my quarters back together then..
Nahh.. I'll just learn to drive with the overhang and deal with the extra cargo space! :flipoff2:
Was that the "race truck" chassis you just bobbed? :D
I was feeling pretty good that, just a week after I broke it, the racer is ready to rock n' roll again - well, almost.
Gotta fill the tranny again, and do something about the rear shocks.. hope to have it unloaded and in the shop tonight. :D

My thoughts exactly!! Stop it Mark. I need that cargo space for all the stuff my wife takes camping!!! Now step away from my rig and put the sawzall down. We can molest the other SSII I am picking up.
BTW, thanks for throwing my pics up also. I grabbed em and cleaned them up a little. Need to finish the link bars, then paint it all up nice and pretty.
Roundup is only a few weeks away.
I did pop out the dent I put in my quarterpanel last time out. Took all of 5 minutes. ;)
Time to get out the Q-Tips I guess... ;)

You have room for camping stuff on top of your day-to-day wheelin' gear? WOW! :D
When I take the Scout camping, my big green rocket-box of camping gear goes on top of the action packers in the cargo area, and the sleeping bags, cooler, and clothes go on the back seat.
Good thing it's just the two of us. :D
Not that we do 2-day wheelin' trips very often.. and when I'm camping in 2 weeks, I'll tow the Scout behind the crewcab - so I have room to haul crap. :D

Quit talking like that! I'm still working on getting ready before the next race (6/22).. don't remind me of the list of things I want to get done before RMIHR..
Hayraker 06-03-2002, 05:15 PM that looks good, I originally wanted to use my endcaps and tail lights, but they were just too rotten.

Do the words futon mattress mean anything to you? Foldup table and chairs? Two tents? 6 sleeping bags? 2 air mattresses?
She doesn't like to camp, she just likes to take all our household objects, have me put them in my truck, and haul them to the top of the mountain where I unload them and she makes it *just like home*
Yeah, I need more room. We are looking at a small trailer right now...
troutbum 06-12-2002, 03:58 PM Damn I go on vacation and you beat me to it...looks good. Mine will take a little longer as I have to ditch the fuel tank and figure out how to mount a fuel cell in the bed...when is that thing gonna be running? What are you going to do about the rear cross? what are you doing for fuel tank??

Damn - that looks great!
Now that you got experience doing that you want to do the 1971 I am building?
I have not had a chance to work on the project much lately - too many hours here at work, just started to slow down to normal again - finally have a chance to check the board - seems like it been months since I been on here.
You interested at all in the 74 body in about two months?
should be done with it by then.
