I have an 89 grand wagoneer and I want to chop part of the top off. I want to cut from the back of the rear door to the tailgate. has anyone done this and has anyone made their own soft top to cover it up?

And I cant figure out how to post a pic sorry

A guy in the local club has cut all of the roof off of his FSJ Wagoneer. The windshield is the only thing sticking up above the beltline.

It is a little weak in the B-piller area without the support that used to be there. It is obvious that some bracing behind the door skins is necessary to combat the sagging.

It sure looks cool though.

I think it's a great idea, you could just tie in a roll cage for the extra support and a frame for your soft top. I've seen a couple, like what soilantgreen was talking about, cut off at the windshields and it looked awesome. I'd like to see pics if you decide to do it.
