are the RCAA series points listed somewhere ?
from looking at last years points it appears the series points are a cumulative of the points from each event or am i wrong ? if so how does the series points scoring work ...

As far as I know, they aren't posted anywhere.... But I do know the top three. ;)
For winning an event, you get 140 points. Second place gets 138, third gets 136, fourth 134, etc....
So it goes something like this:
1. Shaffer/Clifford: 280
2. Randall/Vokum: 274
3. Paule: 270

So there is only 2 points separating each? Wow, that's tight!

WOW! Why give out so many points if each place is only separated by 2 points? Is it to encourage people to show up and finish or don't show up at all? Or are there only like 5 competitors?

acctually I haven't been to a arca (yeah) event this year yet..so is there scoring points, like used to be and the 140..138..are bonus points ??
if so wow..a middle of the pack finisher would have a hell of a shot at 1st assuming that somone like that damn shaffer/clifford team wasn't so good:flipoff2:

Ok, one more time..... :p
1st place for an event gets 140 points....
2nd place for an event gets 138 points......
3rd place gets 136 points......
4th 134 points......
blah blah blah....
Your weekend points don't mean anything. For example, we received 6 points for the weekend in Farmington, and 5 points for the weekend in Vernal. Those points don't mean anything, just what place we came in. Since we came in first for both events, we get 140 points per event for a total of 280.
Interesting.... Looks like consistent top finishes pay off, and one blown event can kill you
You get 2 1st's and a 14th to come out with 140+140+110=390
But a team with a more consistent 6th, 6th and a 5th comes out the winner with 130+130+132=392
My numbers may be off - but you get the idea :p

yeah DRM, i guess that's why it's arranged that way
they are trying to reward consistancy this year
i think its awesome. By the way, i think it's obvious who will win the season. Lance and mike have come in first by a landslide at each event...

DRM you nailed it... That's how the Curries won last year. They never won an event, but they ended up winning the series..... As for this year, obviously we are in great shape. But it ain't over till the fat lady sings (and RCAA hands us a $50,000 check! :D )

Nope, never been to a competition. Not into that just camping, wheeling and hanging out with my family. It just seems like a crazy scoring system as shown by someone who maybe never clears the top 5 but wins the series. It appears to give a seriously heavy penalty to those that don't finish. One bad race and that could be the series for you. That's why I said that it seems to encourage showing up and finishing consistenly vs. not showing up or finishing at all. You know like some punk ass who is always blowing shit up and being dangerous to themselves and spectators.
