Lets just say that I want to run a 2nd alternator (1 alternator for 1 battery) on a 1990 5.7 TBI 350. This would be done hopefully by removing the AC compressor and putting an alternator in its place. Bracket wise, is there a factory application that I can use? Pulley size changes? Anyone on the BBS done it before?
Basically I'm asking what it takes to run a second alternator in the position of the AC compressor.
Thanks.

From what i understand the 350 block didn't change from 1969- 1990 something. I know that they can have an alt on the drivers side or the pass. side so i would asume all you have to do is get a bracket for each side and you'll be good to go.

you would probably want to use the stock pully size that your original alternator runs, should spin it about the right speed. as for brackets I miagine you are on your own there.

For brackets look at summit. Seeing as how yours is a long water pump i would go with the universal bracket they have . Part # SUM-G4049 for the upper and SUM-G4050. Don't quote me on the fit but hot rod guys do this all the time and i believe these are the drivers side bracket they use. If you need a pass. side bracket just go with TD Performance TRD-9316 also available from Summit. Total cost for the three is like $40. Good luck!
