i bought a 96 disco with 100,000 miles a couple months ago. i've put a 3 inch lift on with some other junk, and haven't had it out on the road yet, but wheeling it around my house, the engine seems to get extremely hot. the temp gauge is in the normal range, and i know at 5 mph the air flow isn't great, but what temperature range do the rover 4.0 engines usually run in? it just seems like when i open the hood, it is unusually hot. the headers aren't glowing or anything either.

It gets hot under the hood of these trucks and stays very hot for a long time after they stop running. I would hate to work in a fast paced shop on these things all day.

Today with an ambient temp of around 90 my 95 with a fresh 4.0 ran around 185 without AC and around 195 with the AC on my autometer gauge with the sending really close to the factory one (the plug on the bottom of the manifold)
