I remember reading on this board that someone fit 15" rims on special model D70 but cannot find the thread. Also there was mention that some D70's had low spline count shafts (low 20's), this was awhile ago so I might be mixing this up. Can anyone fill the gap on these two or if anyone knows the thread that would help a lot as well. D70 search came up with a lot and I read through a lot but couldn't find the exact post I was after.
Thanks!!!!

I did rear disk on my 70 and fit 3.5" BS. Couldn't see why 15" wheels wouldnt have fit over the factory drum setup.
How much BS are you running?

I have disc on both of my 70 rear axles in my trucks. One has 4 1/8 back spacing and 4 1/4 repsectfully..I had to grind about an 1/8 of inch out of the caliper..But when I used to run drums I didn't have any clearence problems.as for the spline counts....there is a 23 spline version which is 1.5 inch diameter shaft and seen in really old 70's, there is a 32 spline version which is about the 1.3 inches in diameter and a 35 spline version with 1.5 inch shafts..The 35 spline is the most desirable...hope this helps.:D

I haven't gotten wheels yet but I would like to keep the BS down as I am already running full width.
Does anyone know if a 15 in wheel will fit over the stock drums?
onetonwillysands10: Thanks for the info. Do you know what models/years had the desireable 35 spline shafts?
