Ok before anyone starts yelling I did do the search, so keep you newbie crap to yourself!:D

What I want to do is build up a new 2002 Tacoma for a rolling advertisement for my new company, too many Hummers, Bugs, Chevy 2500HDs doing it that it barely turns my head.

It wont see much offroad but thats what my bogger (35" Boggers on a 357" powered 72 Bronco) is for anyway, so the plans include, 4 inch suspension lift ( brand not decided on but will take suggestions, I was thinking Procomp) and a 3 inch body lift to stuff the 35" ProComp Xtremes under the truck. The engine would get a supercharger, headers and exhaust as well as the chip etc. I think it would make a nice good looking work truck to tool around town in and turn enough heads to maybe get more work out of. To make it even more deadly, limo tint with the silver paint hiding the bass-pumping stereo.

So would my plans as far as the lift and tires work out? Any other suggestions always welcome.

Well if you have choosen the right truck.

Now just do a sloid axel swap with a D60 front and D70/14bolt in the rear. Do either leaf springs (work well and cheap)

or do

custom 4-link front and rear with big ol coil over swa shocks.
and run 38's.

forget supercharger and chip till later (no one can see you have it)
spend that money on suspension.

BTW: WHEEL THE FUCK OUT OF IT

a d-60 off the bat is for t-joes... Go over to the tacoma territory message board. If you want to make a statement, the D44 Solid Axle swap has been well documented. For a good starting point, go to www.toy4x4.net/sas

the Tacoma Territory Board is

forums.delphiforums.com/tacomaterritory/start

As for the SAS, starting from with a bone stock truck, expect to pay around 5000 minimum unless you are a superior skilled mechanic with mega-discounts and all your own fabrication equipment. Some Tacoma owners have shelled out over 13k for their SAS

as for the lift..if you stay with IFS...ditch the body lift, and get some spacers from this guy www.cornfedsuspension.com or go get some coilovers...

AND STAY AWAY FROM THE BLING BLING CRAP

35's on a Taco, expect to be replacing the Rack & Pinion steering every 6-12 months. I do not see how that is going to make a statement, those things are a dime a dozen around here, all mall runners. Do an SAS.:rasta:

If he isnt gonna be doin any wheelin or maybe he takes it off road a little bit. I would go with a 85 Toy axle. They are cheap and easy to do. thats just my 2 cents.:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: WELCOME NEWB

First off:

What type of company is it?

Second if its not 4x4 related through a flashy paint job on it and forget the rest!

If its 4x4 related then SAS it and go with 36-38's so people notice it among all the pavent pounders.

Third get it dirty on purpose!!

I was thinking the same... but he did say "It wont see much offroad", and it sure sounds like a show truck. Even better, get a '79-80 Toy front axle, and leave the '84-85's for guys who want to 'wheel 'em.

Hell, might as well put a shell on the back and fill your bed with the largest subs you can find. If you aint planning on wheelin it then keep it stock. If you have other plans then go with the SAS, It'll save your truck from being:rainbow: from your intended ifs lift and body lift. Welcome to the board. Welp see ya later.

Lot of good points brought up with the SAS, especially with the driveshafts being on the wrong side. Well, just to piss people off I could use one of my spare EB dana 44s?

Who would that piss off? Go for it; I've put Ford D44's under all kinds of non-Ford trucks.

If it's a 4x4 shop, I'd think you'd want something bigger than 35's for a pimp rig; if it's a stereo shop, I'm in with putting a shell and a bedful of subs in. You never did say what kind of shop you're pimping.

Actually its gonna be my work truck and rolling advertising for my small electrical company. So the subs and such would be out of the question. Its gotta be a 4x4 because for construction areas and industrial jobs out in the country.

Am considering only going to 33s

FAWKIN PAVMENT POUNDING NEWBIE!:flipoff2: Screw the sound system, tint and nice paint job! Do a SAS with danas fr and rr, marlin crawler, 39" boggers, exo, and an antenna ball from jack in the crack. That will get some heads turnin!:flipoff2:

Well, I was thinking all weekend I would go ahead and do a SAS swap and run 37s.

Turns out all this thinking is going to waste now, I just got promoted to Area Supervisor, with this comes a HEFTY pay raise, and the company is paying for a new truck, up to $40 000. Well I was at the local Ford dealership and have my new truck on hold.
2002 F350 extended cab, shortbox, diesel automatic, silver with grey leather interior. Should pass approval as the basic requirement was a V8 powered 3/4 ton with a 6 foot box. This truck will receive a 4 inch lift with 37s, lots of improvements to the diesel to get a whole lot more Torque, to pull those 28 foot flatdecks that I would usually have to borrow one of the other company trucks to haul out replacement parts.

Add a Dual Transfercase system to your Taco. Even if you are not going to leave the pavement, it would like trick to see the third shifter, and its resale value will go up by a good $2-3k.

We have the world's only V6 Tacoma Crawler in stock and ready to ship! 5spd or Automatic, IFS or SAS.

you can pick up the front axle from a jeep or a newer dodge the pumpkin is located on the driver side already, should be fairly cheap to locate one and you would already be halfway there to a custom 4 link front end

do the best of both worlds. SAS your taco, make it a trail only rig. Get the ford too, have a tow rig and a trail rig. Then you'll be ready to get it awn!
