Alright, re-finished the heads on a 2000 chevy with a 5.3, getting it back together and I'll be damned if I can't find a head bolt torque spec anywhere in the damn haynes manual.
Anyone know the torque spec and sequence:grinpimp:
22ft lbs first pass on 1-10, then tighten 1-8 90* then 9&10 50* then tighten 11-15 to 22ftlbs going in order (be sure to use new bolts)
15 12 11 12 14
10 3 1 5 9
7 6 2 4 8

1 more question, how are the bolts numbered.
I drew you the best picture I can , look at the random numbers at the bottom of my post then look at your cyl head and see if it makes sense 1-10 are under the valve cover

word of warning...
I believe all gen III chev engines have "torque yielding" fasteners.
AKA, you need to replace the bolts. 1 time use.
Sounds lame, but I did it anyhow on my 6.0, and GM was the only source.
