Quick question for you ford guys. Will the w351 run if remove all that smog control bull shit from the motor? All the hoses that run from the exhaust manifolds and regulators attached to them? or do i just need to leave it alone and try to live with it cluttering up my buggy

Use your best judgement don't remove any thing that will cause a vacuum leak or affect the aspiration or fuel system of the motor but really to give you a more definite answere i need to know what year and model it came from.
thank you

I believe you are wanting to remove the metel air pipes that go to the back of the heads??? Yes you can but you must make plugs for the holes. I think a company actually makes them. Air pump==garbage as well. YOu can even dump the EGR but I need to know what you are running as far as fuel injection. If you are having a custom chip burned then you can remove the EGR but you must tell whomever is making your chip.
I plugged the output ports on my GT-40 heads with a threaded allen plug that I purchased from the local machine shop. If you have an intake manifold without the egr intake ports (Wiend Stealt does not have them) you are done. If not (stock 4V), those will have to be plugged too. You really only need three vacuum ports....brake booster, dizzy, tranny-modulator (automatic).
I have heard that small block Ford will run lean without the EGR.

That's why we need to know what the computer and tune set up is. If it's stock then no you can not remove it.

Would there be any way of possibly putting a resistor in a circuit so that the computer richens up the mixture?
Or, does someone sell an aftermarket computer that will allow you to remove most of the crap including the EGR? I've been wanting to do this same thing for awhile now.
EDIT: Ahh just saw your mention of using a chip in your post above. Who does a good job of burning chips for these engines?
