Jim Johnson 06-03-2002, 07:10 PM Factory 85 springs front and rear. sway bar & torque rod removed, spring clamps opened, and 2" shackles. Extended my factory brake lines ( took them out of the holding bracket)

Jim Johnson 06-03-2002, 07:16 PM I put the correct link, I accidently posted the wrong one, try it now.:p
Jim Johnson 06-03-2002, 07:17 PM 15 x 12 alcoas on 33x14 boggers.
The tires did rub a little when turned and stuffed. I trimmed the fender near the body mount and it corrected the problem.
Mr. Bastard 06-03-2002, 07:28 PM Looks good but I am more impressed with the Tow Rig/Trailer :flipoff2: :D :flipoff2: :usa:
bgreen 06-03-2002, 07:33 PM Nice truck! flex is over rated anyway. I think that the amount that you have is perfect for the all around trail rig.
You shoulda bought my 35" boggers :p
Looks good - I see Summertown trails in there ;)

Bones 06-04-2002, 09:15 AM Seabass, I'm liking that Sammi! you stretch it? I thought you were going to? Also, what did you use to cover the chopped out section with between the seats and flatbed? Got my wheels turning now...screw bobbing the 4runner, I need to make it a damn 2 seater with a flatbed! :D

I used the tail gate, saw the sammy guys doing it....more leg room then my toyota had too;) I will prob streach it later, it's 84" know and I want to wheel it, so the streach will come when the weather is bad, maybe before the snow, I don't want it down for any long time, I was without for 16 months before! NO FUN. I say KIT....Keep It Togather:flipoff2:
Jim Johnson 06-04-2002, 01:39 PM Looks good but I am more impressed with the Tow Rig/Trailer
it does the job, but I can't take full credit, the to wtruck and trailer belong to my dad. I am currnetly looking to buy my own tow vehicle though.
eviltwin 06-04-2002, 01:46 PM hey tn85yota, do you use an add aleaf or anything else to give it that much lift? like rearched springs? I have an 85 runner that I need to get lifted but have no cash, looks like what you did worked really well and I might try it on my truck.

All I did was the 2" shackles front and rear and a 3" body lift. With a 4runner, you might want to put an extra leaf in the rear.
I am very pleased and I do not have a bundle of money tied up in it, Hell, I don't even have power steering:mad:
I did have to extend my factory brake lines in front. removing the sway bar and torque rod helped a lot. I am even so sheap, I went to auto zone and bought some 9.99 gas shocks for the front. I do not know what thye come off of, but we cross referenced shocks and found some to bolt up. The extend to 24" and compress to 13"
In the rear, I have some 12.99 chevy 4x4 shocks, they extend to 25"
Brian Ellinger 06-05-2002, 10:14 AM This is funny. Someone else finally started playing with stock springs! Your front setup is what the wife's runner is getting, and the rears are gonna be mazdas. Just only a 1.5" shackle, 2" body, and 36's.

:D :D :D
Brian Ellinger 06-06-2002, 07:33 AM sorry DRM I dont mean hybrid stock pack stuff, I mean stock front springs, on a stock straight axle frame (no extra long hangers or anything goofy), just a longer shackle, with shackles and mounts to handle it.

who likes beer?
deleon87 06-10-2002, 04:36 PM what lift do you guess you got?
Jim Johnson 06-10-2002, 07:02 PM what lift do you guess you got?
2" suspension
3" body
minor trimming

You mean 8/10?
Since you are on the El cheapo budget, head down to the wrecker and grab a set of front brake lines of one of those boxy toyota vans. They screw right on to your stock lines and give a 10 inch extension.
Mike.
