I know this is a bit of dumb question, but I've quite a bit of searching with no definitive answer on this one yet.

I've got a sammi with crapped out driveline and I'm running short on coin to have a nice custom driveshaft made for it.

From what I'm seeing from guys selling these adaptor plates, it would appear that I could round up a cheap toy driveline, buy or build the adaptors for them to fit.

The stock driveline has the crappy u-joints as everybody knows and I'd like to have something beefier under there without breaking the bank.

Can anyone shed some light onto this subject for me?

The cheapest used driveline I can find is $150.00 for stock crapper like I have. The good ones are running $300.00 to start.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I am the Guy that makes the Toy driveline adapters, they are $44.50 pc with the hardware. 0r $84.00pr with hardware kit. Toy drivleines can be had as cheap as $50-$75.00.

we just drilled out the sami flange for the toy pattern, and made these spacers to clear the flange nut.

and our toy driveline was $85

did the same thing. 1/4" aluminum spacer- just drilled out the Sami flanges.
my driveline was $80 (just the cost to have 1 shaft lengthened, got all the parts free)

That's great news.......

Just one more question...well two to be technical.

Are you guys having to shorten or lengthen these drivelines, and is there a particular year of toy drivelines that are best suited?

Thanks for the help and it is much appreciated.

my rear is a short stock front.
my front, the shaft was too short - so I had it made longer.

While doing the above can work for non cv style shafts, You have to be real good with your measurement. With just a spacer you are Bolt centric not bore centric.. they may or may not cause vibration. Our adapters are bore centric both sides, snout fits samurai bore and the adapter bore fits the Toy snout.. IT also accomidates all Toy shafts CV and non and all year zuk flanges.

Im runnin scotts adapters and they are sweet. I have a toyota cv in the rear with stock axles and it works awesome, no breakage issues just lost a grease zerk to a rock.

Square driveshafts are the ticket in the front too. Check out http://www.rockjunkie4x4.com/ for your square driveshaft needs, he has some material machined out for a tight fit.

Toyota is the way to go if you need to beef up your drivelines. Easy to adapt to, and i have herd the aftermarket autozone brute force ujoints are actually worth a damn, unlike the aftermarket zuk ones from any manufacturer which you can split at will if you want.

anyway i picked up my 84 and 80 front toyota dc shafts for under 100 for both.

$1.25 per inch. Holy fucking over priced.Thats what I love about Zuk guys your such fawking tight asses:laughing: No point in dropping a ton of money into something your going to break eventually anyhow. I chose to run Scott's adapters because now a toy driveshaft given to me on the trail will almost always work without having to make a adapter in the middle of nowhere.

Did you see the "inch" part? I just paid less than $2/foot for 1.75" .120 HREW.

Here's a Rockrat adapter on my rear Toy CV shaft...

I run the old style "small" flange on my t-case...and an '86 Toy IFS CV shaft so "just drilling the holes out" is not an option.

That works on the old Toy stuff...there isn't enough Samurai "flange" to accept a bolt hole from the flange of a 1986 and newer large CV style "flange".

Just turning the ID is not an option with the small flange zuk. The CV bolt holes are wider the then Flange OD
