Ennnnnn Wrongo. I took that picture myself at NWBRU a few years ago:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Binderfan, you were there with Todd and Mike from Mr. Scout. I remember spocking that bumper and admiring it. Its one nice cattle wacker ;) . Many people have asked what that cost to build. So spill the beans what did it cost???

Did you take this one as well? It was an example on how not to pack photo's when you send them to Bill's for the calander .

That bumper was fabbed? I thought it was an ARB bumper.

HammerLock, ARB doesn't make bumpers for Scouts :(

However, I have heard that I an ARB for a Land Rover is a close fit (or is it Cruiser). Build new mounting brackets and its supposed to be a close fit. However I've never seen on, picture or in person. I do have a nuber however of a local (WA) guy (other than Fleck) who builds custom, ARB style (and tube style) bumpers... heard he does good work, but never hooked up with him (can't afford to BUY a bumper....)

The bumper pictures is pretty cool, I have some pictures myself of it, so no, your not exclusive on pics of it John. It sits really high in the front (good for approch), the rear I would have done a bit different but works.

Who's Scout is that?? Its been at Round-Up a couple of times, but thats the only place I have seen it, I've never met the owner, didn't reconize the name and have NEVER seen it running around (let alone on the trails)

Binderfan?? Is that yours??? Who are you??

Look at the bumper Rubicrawler (Search) made for Amanda's Scout. It's not a wrap around, but is a good base for one.

Yeah, I know. I still think it might be an ARB bumper. Nice design just a little too big. Hangs down too low.

Has anyone cut the bottoms of their fenders and 1/4's for wrap around bumpers? I sure someone has but I haven't seen any close ups pics.

Actually, that blue one is really high... Look at it closely, he cut out the lower grill. The bottom of it is about even with the bottom of the frame... maybe a bit higher, have to check my pictures when I get home.

Fleck cut his 1/4'sa little, not as much as I plan, but some.... look on his link above and I'm sure its in there.... I'm planning on, just haven't gotten to it yet. Jeese, I did a Bob this weekend... you want me to build a bumper too :D

problems with cutting too much out, and makeing a really nice, tucked in rear bumper, is the tail-gate hinge mounts... they hang down right were you would want to build a bumper. You can either notch the bumper, build it out, or re-work them.... I'm thinking re-work them ;)

You can flip them up and inside! I did it to mine. I made a backing plate and installed it thru the taillight hole. JoshC showed me this trick.

I was at a loss why you guys thought that bumper hung low. hell the frame is cleaer in the pics

Old Scout that was not me who sent that shot in.

Mark, I never said i had exclusive pics, I mean come awwwn duh I know that truck has been photographed before:p
That guy, you mean Chris Proyek (or some similar last name)??
Yea he makes some nice tube smitty built style bumpers.
http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/bumpidea36.JPG

Mark you say the Blue one in the other pics has trimed the grill?? The blue scout or the blue bumper?? The blue scout still has 3 slots and some below the blinker, so i dont think from the pic it has been trimed.

Hammerlock, i have the part number and do conversions to the ARB bumpers to make them fit the Scout. Look at my website for pics of what an ARB on a Scout 2 looks like.

Okay i am feeling generous today
My wrap around way long ago before i reworked the suspension to flex http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/bumpidea4.jpg

This scout has the ARB bumper and a safari snorkel.
http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/SNORKEL.jpg
It is about $750 converted ready to biolt on to a Scout 2.

Brawler, is that why you want that 60 front i have?? Looks like thats not even a Dana 44 with the round pattern of the bolts on the diff cover. What front is that? Did ya break the knuckle or axle?? Or is this some kind of independant 4 tire steer setup:D

That was a stock scout d44 front but it does look round in the pic huh? The heim on the Tie Rod broke ( cheap steel one ) and caused that "toe in" .

John, what does that last sentence mean? I have read it and re-read it, and I cannot make heads or tails of the grammar. Is that the English they teach at Eastern? I think you might need a better ventilator!! Back to Hooked on Phonics for you!! :D

If you mean the number of binders one owns is a measure of wheeling ability, you really have been in the shop and off the trails waaaayyyy too long.

At least all of my binders run, are legal, are trail worthy, and can SPANK any rig in your corral!!!

Well, Hmmmm

With 5 weeks till I leave and deliver Expiditition, my time is kinda used up already. I also have to pony up $2045 bucks to the CNC plasma cutters for parts for the HUBP kits, straight steers, and the Shackles. Gotta have plenty of them to sell. I also have to pony up $800 Cash to the CNC machinest to make more of the No Leak Gas Filler Adapters shown below for the 80/800/ and c-series pickups for sale at the shows.
http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/NoLeakGasFillerAdapters06.JPG
http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/NoLeakGasFillerAdapters03.JPG

Then $400 for steel caster shims in 4 and 6 degree. New ones are machined not cut like in pic
http://www.backcountrybinders.com/images/2x6SteelShims1.JPG

What that all means is i have to spend a ton of time in the shop till its time to leave to make the capital to do all this this year. I plan on only haveing the stuff i make at the shows plus a few hot sellers, not all the stuff like in past years. I also have to make up product catalogs if time and $$ permits.

You guys all think this stuff come relatively easy, guess again. Pat come do a vendor profile and spend a day in the life of John to see what i go through. Then you may understand that till after i get into the new shop and have 3 hired quality guys to help i will not have a ton of time.
